Stars

wood creaks as i walk
Theres silence, no talk
Sweet gentle sigh
A breeze flowing by
The light slowly fading
Night is invading
To home i should go
Yet onward i flow
The edge of the night
No glimmer of light
The sun is asleep
But Longer i creep
Then in a wink
Small lights flicker and blink
Soon light up the sky
In the blink of an eye
The heavens declare
I cant help but stare
The beauty i see
Was put there for me

City Muse #3: Toronto

City Muse #3:  Toronto

Frannie Z

I was selfish, untouristy.

Settling myself

into a trail

not yet completed

I dodged ends of buildings

and non-roads

to walk.

A kind couple

originally

from one of my homes

queried me, astounded.

Strange, I thought.

I can’t be the only one

with a crush on the lake.

A few hours later

rain set in.

On this lake

I, a rain hater,

became its lover:

Moist with drops,

filmed with spray

cresting to waves,

blessing urban winds

and hailing their fogged deities.

Faint sounds echoed

The ghost memories

That surround and fill

Our older selves

With the feeling of nostalgia

The passing of notes

Those fights over nothing

Smuggling of money

To eat junk food

Laughter that broke

The fights of hours

Standing in corridor

Without any shame

Grumbling about homework

Pulling it off in a night

And today we stand

In an empty hallway

With only memories

And a smiling old friend

I miss school and all those stupid things that looked too big at one time.

The Irreplaceable

What do you get for the guy

who wipes your ass when you can’t.

What do you say to a person who

stays up all night to make sure your temperature

doesn’t go up?  Who helps you walk when you cant do it alone?  Who

sits in a hospital chair for three weeks only leaving for a total of four

hours to take showers.

What kind of person even does that?

Even when your family and friends fail you,

which they surprisingly do.

Even when any normal person would have

had enough of gory wounds

and infections, he is still there.

You have to tell them you are the luckiest person alive.

I Praise You

He is a wonderful Father
A forgiving Father
He has kept his hands on my life,
Protecting me
He has loved me through all my bad decisions,
all my failings as a mere human
He has covered me with His grace
even though I am a disobedient child
I am thankful for my Father
He allows me to learn the hard way
I know he shakes His head from time to time,
and clucks his tongue
But He knows my heart,
And I have faith in Him
And I am eternally grateful for His grace
and for His love
He is deserving of all praise
And I praise you my Heavenly Father

Loss

The moment of knowing loss

Is filled with so much emotion

The sudden emptiness

The stop of the current between you

Death will come to us all

At some point in time

But before it does

We will experience the loss of many

Mourning the absence

While being bombarded

With the memories

Both significant and ordinary

Their laugh, their smell, their touch

The ease of being silently together

And the loudness

Of being silly and playful

The closeness of those

Who also felt the loss

Close and heavy

Making it hard to even breathe

It is almost too much to bear

But day by day

Year by year

It eases, if only enough to go on

To look back and appreciate

Time you were given

And the gift

Of having them in your life

Prompt 10 – Heart Singer

Heart singer,
Night howler.

Your love is unconditional,
Your joy is boundless –
It astounds me that there exists
A creature with such pure
Intentions, never meant to harm

I love you, my Heart Singer
You who can swell my chest
At sight because all you’ve
Ever given me
Is your absolute adoration.

Night Howler, thank you;
Thank you for loving me
Even when I howl and yell
Back at you
Out of frustration.

You, truly, hold power over my heart.

#9) Alpline

Along the boardwalk

there are reeds

mosquitoes

and giant ferns.

I hear

the song of birds

and the gentle whispering

of trees.

The air cannot be more pure.

This

is paradise.

Ode To A True Friend (Haiku’s)

He was there indeed…
As I cried and slowly died!
A lover and friend.

We could not remain…
Lovers till the end of time.
Friends we are this day!

Our love had no end.
We cannot see us apart,
At least, as best friends.

Thank you dear friend,
We must always stay in touch!
Forever as friends.
