Books!

Books!
Oh the wonderful companion for all ages!
They can be your guide…
A friend indeed
Or even a holder of your secrets….
You cry with them
You laugh with them
And sometimes get lost in wonder of life…thinking…holding them…staring right ahead…into fascinating nothingness!

Books!
They tell you tales of lands unknown
Of times not yet here
On journeys through the space
They take you soaring…gliding
Flying…above and far far ahead!
Though being ever so silent
They speak the loudest
Since they speak directly to our hearts
And unlock the deepest unexplored parts of our imagination…

Books! There is nothing like them!

Hour Eight: The Truth Will Set You Free

Look into my eyes
Tell me the truth
Were the words you told me real
Did they have any meaning to you

Tell me the truth
No more childish games
Did they have any meaning to you
Or were you trying to break in and steal my heart away

No more childish games
If your words were truth than let their colors show
Or were you trying to break in and steal my heart away
Greedily saving it for yourself on a rainy day

If your words were truth than let their colors show
Otherwise my heart will learn what my head already knows
You were greedily saving it for yourself on a rainy day
No intention of love found in your viens

My heart will learn what my head already knows
Your words were nothing but lies spun beautifully
No intention of love found in your viens
Goodbye sweet liar

Poem 10 — Praises to Caffeine!

I woke up this morning,
An hour later than planned,
I couldn’t pull my thoughts together,
Still I knew today would be grand.
Didn’t want any food,
I didn’t want to cook.
I could taste that cup of coffee,
That was all it took.
One cup wasn’t enough,
I needed more,
I grabbed another dose of caffeine
Heading out the door.
I love how it makes me laugh
When jokes are corny and bland,
It composes great thoughts
And inspires me into my own brand.
Thank you coffee,
You know how to begin my day,
God bless Pepsi
For helping me control what I say.
You boost my mind
Like fiber in a bean,
Your taste rocks my desires,
Oh greatness, ALL PRAISES TO CAFFEINE.

Thank You, Father!

The right side of a shelf in my room

The left side of the cupboard in my brother’s

My sister’s desk only on Sundays and you were over the moon

A tiny space for you, dear Father

That was all he had, the kindest of men

My father, the most generous

Patient, wonderful and wonderful again

Filled with gracious tenderness

I will be nothing without your shadow

I will be nothing without your presence

The warm sunlight in frosty snow

You are the protector that brightens and enlightens

attitude of gratitude

it’s so easy to get lost in dismay

an attitude of gratitude goes a long, long way

When i wake up, i thank my maker

When i pour my cup, i thank my “coffee-maker”

When i go to work, i thank the pay-paychecker

When i get mad, at my teenager

I thank my mother, now I’m the care-taker

when you smile, upon seeing my face

I’m grateful for the day-changer

When you help me up,

Im thankful for grace

When i say thank you, and kiss your face

the attitude of gratitude

goes along

long way

I Praise The Rain

For  bathing me so hard so my tears won’t be noticed

For taking away my pain and bringing joy and bliss

For waiting comfortably ’til I’m ready to come home

I praise my friend-the rain with it as if I’m home

For caressing my skin my hair and then my feet

For hiding all my sobs so they won’t see my pain

For blocking all my cries so people will not hear

I praise my friend-the rain that never fails to cheer

The rain my dear dear friend is quiet and sincere

It listens to my rants and even my own fear

Always like a cane when times I need a hand

I praise my friend-the rain one in a million kind.

Poem 11

Hide and seek

I hide

Behind a friend
Who was always by my side
She protects me
Not because she cares
But she don’t wanna loose her dominance over me..
She was none other but was my own fear. .
She gave a coverage..
She pampered me like a child..
I started believing her
The trust grew deeper day by day..
Then another one enters in my life..
I didn’t like her
As she always tried to seek me,
To show me that the one who is caring for me is not actually called care..
She showed me the real face of fear
She told me that you will not like me ever
May b you would scare of me..
As I m the one who will force you to take risks in your life
Who will push you to face reality..
I am courage..
Fear didn’t like the company of me and courage
As she’s now getting the intuition of loosing me
She became friend with anger to make me under her.

Now I was confused..
I was neither with fear nor with courage
I was alone thinking and defining my own presence in the world..

Obviously fear and anger was attracting me more than courage..
As I was feeling comfortable with them..
But then I thought why not to try courage for once..
I take one step ahead with courage
Then I realized I am getting inner peace and positive strength
I felt stronger. . I felt happy.
Suddenly don’t know From where, patience was watching me patiently..
I felt calm by seeing her with me too..
I got patience in myself automatically..

In the company of courage and patience..
I became the one i never imagined I could ever be. .
I forgot that I was just testing courage and patience over fear and anger..
I was different dhriti now..
From just dhriti (name which my parents gave to me on my birth), I made myself the real dhriti(which means courage and patience)

It was out of the world which I experienced..
It wouldn’t be justice to say that the fear and anger was never needed..
Because of them, I got a chance to know courage and Patience better..
Fear hid me.. courage sought me..

Respect bad and accept good,
Bad shows the importance of good.

Hour Ten: Critical decision

A found/blackout poem of sorts—I went through a book about film posters and underlined certain phrases, then added my own bit at the end.

Critical decision

It is often said that
this is the former summarizing the latter

In the former situation,
I tend to judge the relationship
right down to natural instinct

To the extent
the end of the story came into being
in a totally different light
I spoke to impulse and reaction
a stress on chronology

as if this inclination
is not a field beset by exceptions

Seriously, though:
Where do you want to go for dinner?

(13 August 2016)

Pizza

Why must I wait on pizza?

Why does it take so long?

Why can’t it be faster?

From the places I order from.

I really want it now, I don’t want to wait,

Please hurry up, I’m really hungry and I don’t want to be late.

Prompt 10

Praise

Praise be for the poets
Prickly thorns in our sides
Promises of comfort
Placards that admonish
Postcards of memory
Path of our ancestors
Prophets of the muses
