Marathon Eve Post
Hello ! This is exciting.
24 Poems ~ 24 Hours
Hello ! This is exciting.
This is my first time participating. I just have a hard time writing in a structured time usually…that’s why I wanted to participate.
Hi everyone, I believe this is my third half marathon! I am looking forward to reading the poetry from everyone this year because we have all experienced some level of impact due to changes in the world around us. I believe poetry is a powerful outcry from humanity.
I look forward to participating in this outcry!
Its a fun to be here once again.
Welcome all , we will be writimg poetry every hour.
Hello Good People,
I’ve never done anything like this in my life. I write in fits and starts and am a creative who is often at war with herself. Hopefully, this exercise flips a switch in productivity and dampens the angst.
The part of this journey that is most exciting is getting to discover, reimagine, and rethink the world around me. This virtual fellowship of the poets is a great gift.
It’s about to go down! Happy writing to all.
Sincerely,
Natalie from Kentucky
I am so happy to have stumbled across the Poetry Marathon, although I’m doing the half. I have been an intermittent poet since I was in middle school – MANY decades ago.
I’ve had a dry spell and am looking forward to this structure to get going again!!
I live in Vermont and I’m retired from human services work. I am a part time. substitute teacher at our local HS, a passionate gardener, and I dabble in watercolors.
I’m also really into looking at the birds that feed near my porch, and I’m seriously enamored of a Raven pair I’ve been watching for years.
I have a feeling I’ll be writing about birds.
Can everyone see this post? Please give a holler if it shows up on your end.
I’m excited to be in my third marathon and hope I can finish my third year running 🏃♂️
Here’s my set-up for the morning. I gathered three beautiful ornaments for “inspiration” to get some Christmas poems cranked out during the marathon. I also grabbed the map of my fantasy world so I can generate some poems from the characters in my fantasy series if that mood strikes me. (Hopefully it will!) I’ve got apples washed and almonds there on the table but there’s “eat-this-fast” food in the fridge along with iced coffees to make refueling myself quick-n-easy. I’m ashamed of those water bottles, but they’re convenient and recyclable.
Now I just need to prep the pets’ “additional” food bowls so those will be easy to set in front of them Sunday morning when I’m exhausted and in the home-stretch… 😉
I hope everyone gets a good night’s rest and is ready for wild creativity this weekend! I’m excited to create alongside you!
Best wishes,
Sandy Lender
