“Flowers in Bloom”

“Flowers in Bloom”

He bought her flowers.

He watched them bloom.

He watched as she attended them.

He watched as the seasons came and went,

and how the flowers changed.

He watched time turn her hair white.

He watched as he mind began to drift.

He watched as she slowly lost all her petals,

and eventually withered away.

Just like the flowers she’d used to tend.

He bought her flowers.

He took them to her new resting place.

Always signed.

Her sweet admirer.

Ode to Smith

You are the reason seasons of my life move sans treason. Had we not met; if you had not met me, and shared knowledge of God and the Bible, week-in, week-out for aeon, would make a different story. Wouldn’t have replicated the knowledge. Talk about you always, every time, when I mentor some Christian brothers and sisters. Some know you. Haven’t met you. It delights me daily when I remember the time we shared, the stories we shared, the moments we shared, the friends we shared, and the vision we shared. You have made me what I am in Christ. Your positive influence is written in blood. Didn’t know. Know now. You are not given to frills. You like substance. Look at me now. Exact replica of Smith. Take a deep look, Smith. Can you see me now? You cannot? Remove your glasses. Oh sorry. Remember you are photophobic. Clean your glasses. You will se me now. My ready smile. My calm exterior. Smile more. You whispered. How can I forget? How can I forget you? How can I forget our times together? How? Why? It is just not possible, Smith.

Hour 21_ not an ode

I’ve been at this way too long
am absolutely crowed
Oh, why did they pick this hour
to celebrate the ode?
Earlier, by many hours, my words
my form, they flowed
But now the brain is foggy
its more than slowed – it’s snowed.

I’ll try another day
of this I won’t betray
I’ll write with great cachet
The things I will portray!

Light returns day to the sky
At this time I would be waking
But sleep has not yet bunked here
Nonsense is for the taking!

Oh, ode my deep regret
I will ne’er forget
Later – but not yet
This moment in your debt!

Night vision – Hour 20

Streetlights begin to glow,

And the day goes home for supper.

Cicadas call to the setting sun,

While moonbeams dance in the lazy shadows.

Nocturnal songs on distant winds,

Evening repose.

Solitude – Hour Twenty One

All alone in the quiet, while others are sleeping
I sit and I softly reflect
My life is so blessed, my heart filled with such pride
For these blessings I’ve so much respect
I am living a life I never thought could be
With a family I’ve made on my own
I’m grateful for moments like these in the still
To feel pride as I sit all alone
My husband is awesome, he’s hardworking and wise
Our daughter is my dream come true
I know I can do nothing wrong in their eyes
They love me for all that I do
Even our silly cat respects me in her way
I have neighbors that I call my friends
I’ve helped many people, I’ve found my own gifts
And I’ve tried to move mountains on ends
The latter unsuccessful and yet, I have tried
Still, I find incredible joy
In knowing that every day that I am given
I try my hardest to employ
The most of the blessings that life has bestowed
For each is richly filled with wonder
I’d trade it for nothing, for even if it’s not perfect
It is where I feel I’m meant to be

Never Break Eye Contact

*sensual poem, a bit risque, 18+*

I open the vast caverns
of my soul and allow you in
And watch your hooded eyes
Shadowed by the moonlight
Stare intently into mine
I close my eyes, and you’re here
And its real
And I can trace the lines of muscles
In your arm and clutch to your back
Drawing you with an artist’s hand
Further into me.
Fingertips leaving indentations
In your skin
I taste
With the tip of tongue gliding
Down the chords of your neck,
Biting down on your trapezius
And listening to a slight moan
Escape your lips
I, unabashedly thirsty,
Relish the liquid you drench me in
Quenching the blades of desire
Jutting out like hips
Undulation, keeping rhythm to
The slow tempo set upon our hearts.
You glide over me, smoothly
Cautious bated breath soothing
And moans like music
Rousing the most hypnotic
Emotions held within your eyes
As you look into mine
Eyes now hooded-
Rolling like snake-eyes
But remain upon the other-
Waiting intently for that rise.
Diving deeper into my lagoon
I feel you press
Against my insides
And you feel me clenching down
jaw drops with a quiver of lips
drawn out, cocking an arrow
straight into me.
Watching with eyes transfixed
As we lose and find ourselves
Within the thunder of the other.
