Should Have Married the Music Man

True love never dies and so my light
burns everlasting for you, my one love.

Did you love me?

Oh, how I loved you.

I know I loved you, music man,
thirty years hence in my dreams.

Do you think of me?

Each day you cross my mind.

Three guitars I never play,
remembering instead your kiss.

Did you want me?

I never wanted you.

Not like that, the way one wants a toy.
I need you now, the way one needs to breathe.

Would we have married?

I wish it could have been.

Oh, love of my life, I wish I had said yes
when you asked if I’d thought of marriage.

Am I still in your heart?

Three decades I have with you in mine.

You’re 67 now. 68 this year. 70 in ’23. We’re old.
We’re gray. Stiffening muscles when we awake.

Would we have survived them?

I fear them to this day, yet regret saying no beneath their darkness.

Insanity, my love, kept us apart. That pit of snakes from which I escaped.
They would have bitten you, too, in their vastly evil ways.

Will we have another life?

Yes, I know we will.

When all else is gone, and this world has ended, three things remain:
Faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.

You will wait for me at the light.

And, I will always love you.

I Can Hear You

The sounds so muffled for so long
Are now becoming clearer
Distant voices unheard before
Echo coming nearer

I hear the sound but have no sight
No voice no movement can I make
My breath does not come on its own
These breathy sounds are naught but fake

We’ve tried three times I hear them say
You must decide what must be done
Her brain is gone as is her soul
Her battle now can not be won

This strangling thing that’s in my throat
Prevents my voice from crying out
Do not remove this vent just yet
I am still here, please don’t forget

It will be done just as you ask
Tomorrow ‘morn before first shift
She’ll go to sleep she’ll feel no pain
She’ll be adrift before the rain

Before the bell rings in the day
I knew my time would come
At dawns first brilliant shining light
My doomsday bell was rung

She did not die they all proclaimed
The pastor slipped away
And with a fright they all did start
to hear me suddenly say,  I could hear you every day

Watching the movement of the clock

Spending time for watching the movement of the short hand.

It takes much more time to notice it

b‎ut, daily it vain.

Watching it daily it have become as my hobby,

We will feel quite boring and sleepy when we start to see it,

Watching the movement of the clock will be interesting,

It will be quite funny and will be also be boring too.

I am very glad after I have seen it once.

I have got a good result for spending my time for this…

Scent of Summer

I flex the muscles of my mind
To stretch back, reach out, try to find
Why I suddenly recall a summer day
When all around is a gloomy grey.

Laburnum in a vase, a fresh fruit platter,
Picnic by the pool, laughing and chatter,
Are you then, wearing that special fragrance:
‘Soupir d’ete’? It evokes such remembrance

Of long summer days, glowing, lucent,
When the autumn of our lives is almost spent,
My love?

The Portal – hour 15

An armored man

stands at the end

of a pulsating circle

his mouth a wide oval.

Will he step inside

or try to hide?

Instead he’s sucked in

amid a high-pitched wind

which twists the skin.

Inside, secrets writhe

in and out of his mind

black box, area 51

revealed truth, one by one.

A species, familiar but fair

clip a lock of his hair

with only this DNA

they will find a way.

A clone so concise

but its skin feels like ice

infiltrate it will

take over until

Earth’s surface is chill.

Peace is the plan

more men are replaced

anger, hate – erased

turn into a race

that join hand in hand.

X&Y

I’m done

I just thought you should know that.

with all your crap

all the drama, tension,

animosity, pointless screaming.

I’m done.

Because it bears repeating.

So you can take all your dogma, judgement,

scrutiny, self-righteousness, etc. and shove it

well, I don’t really care where

just as long as

it’s not here.

Because

I’m done.

Parachutes

Plummeting down with no way to stop.

Then she opens up and it all comes into focus.

Deceleration sets in and

the world seems so small.

The sky comes up to greet you

and you salute it in return

waiting for the ground to welcome you back into

its essence

as the grass crumbles beneath your feet

and your fear along with it.

#16- Elephants Can Remember

They say elephants can remember,

Elephants so ingenious,

With their ever present gravitas,

With their power reverberating.

Their trunks so nifty,

They pick things up like no other,

Literally and figuratively,

Heavy and slight.

Smelling water from miles away,

Hardly need a compass,

Always know where to go,

Always as wise as the owl.

Stepping over land mines,

Picking up earthly rumbles,

From their distant brethren,

And when mother earth has cramps.

Hearing trouble from miles away,

Those majestic ears not just for show,

They say elephants can remember,

But they can do so much more than that…

To Boldly Go

To Boldly go
to excitedly explore
To view the
stars I do implore
To Engage
and Make it so
To meet worlds
all they have
To race among
those stars above
To Trek galaxies
far and near
To gladly know
this universe
To Captain the
Starships new
To read the
Data left behind
To know of
such Enterprise
To discover all
the lonely and diverse

Higher Power

It could be flight

or lifting heavy things with all your might

but whether you can teleport or disappear,

it should be used to save people far and near

because you owe it to you and me

and with higher power comes higher responsibility
