Left for the business
Came upon a blue iron cart
Parked by the shop side
Wow she exclaimed
I wonder what that could be
To my surprise
It was the cane man’s bed
Dreading the circumstances
She pulled to the shop
The distress was to see
It so close to where her
Business was
Never dream someone could
sleep in such a queer thing
Wonder what caused such an act
Wonder if he really had no home
A cart parked on the street
Was made his home
Life can take you places
In situations of the unknown
Living in a one room
Nestled on the streets
Snuggles by the curbside
Minding its own.

“A cart parked on the street / Was made his home…” it’s surprises such as these that should make us be grateful for all we have.
Powerful and well phrased. Easy to picture.
