Shall we all gather
At the river, the diner,
Or at Granny’s house
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The good times will roll
When two or more are gathered
To eat, drink, pray, love
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My favorite place
Is when I am surrounded
By those I love most
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cherries in a bowl
My life is often like them
Sweetness and some pits
I wonder if this first haiku was to the 12th hour prompt of ‘gatherings’? I love how the three places to ‘gather’ evoke such different images!
Looks like all these haikus are gatherings. Love them too.
It indeed was, Cristy! Thank you for reading it.
Love this real, down home poem. Makes me miss my family, which also has sweets and pits. Lol. Well done.
Families…
I’ll bet we could write endless poems about them, huh?
I love love love this. My favorite line is the ending. So much truth in that last stanza. Very creative
Thank you for your kind words, v-j! It’s nice when the feeling comes through the words and their imagery.
Simple, straight-forward haikus.
I really like them.
I appreciate that you read them!
My life is often like them
Sweetness and some pits… How true this rings for most of us! Lovely!
