I Survived the Poetry Marathon

The following images are part of the Poetry Marathon Tradition. They are for you to do with what you want, but they are often used as a way to celebrate your success.

The official list of everyone who completed the half marathon and the full marathon will be released in the next few days. Remember if you are not on the list it probably has more to do with our algorithm than with you, and please reach out so we can correct it.

  1. Great to be apart of it and I really were amazing going all the in started early but I am sorry but I learned so much of how it goes. I had the chances to explorer myself with a passion. I had fun and thats what I love about it.

  2. I had fun again this year and completed the full. I’m so tired but it was totally worth it. I used a lot of random prompts this year, not feeling some of the hourly ones, like in years’ past, but I love that there are always options to take and run with as we write.

  3. I was stoked to see myself complete my first 24 hour challenge. It was tough. I thought I won’t make it, but I pushed through. Thank goodness for the company of another friend who was doing this too. We helped egg each other on and so glad to have done this. What a feat. Congrats to all❤️

  4. Thanks again for a wonderful half marathon! I am so happy to be back. You two created a wonderful global community of poets. Thanks for keeping this open and free to us year after year!

  5. Really enjoyed my experience with the half marathon even more than last year. I’m not a 24 hr writer. I would get grumpy and sleepy and sneezy…well, you get the picture… Bravo to the long haulers and to all the fellow halfers! Can’t wait ’til next year.

  6. I have never done anything like this before and found it fascinating. I don’t think I wrote very well but I liked the prompts and I found it really good that there were written and visual prompts, since people react differently to both. Thank you Caitlin and Jacob for making this happen. I would be happy to help you in any way I could.

  7. I set a goal to get some poems “logged” for my fantasy world and to do more of the prompts this year than I did last year. Goal: achieved! It was great! Thank you for organizing this event again this year!

  8. I told my son I had completed a Marathon (he does those things) and he asked how was the run. I said “awesome.” Thanks to all for an incredible experience and especially efellows for her love and support. Till next time. Billtatro.com

  9. This has to be one of the best poetry marathons ever! Caitlin and Jacob, you prepare us for this so carefully beforehand and, with awesome moderators, look after us so well during the event – I can’t thank you enough! The time within this poetic community really reboots me and is such a bright light in my writing year. It’s a joy to be a marathoner and to meet so many fine folk along the way. Thank you xx

  10. This was such an amazing exercise and a true testament on the art of brainstorming. After revising and editing, I have some new pieces of which I am particularly proud. I will post them in the facebook group.

Thank you all so much for all your time, energy and passion!!

  11. This was my first marathon, and it was a wonderful experience. I’m so thankful to have found such an amazing group of poets. I’ve only just begun to really be able to read and comment on work today, and I’m inspired, overwhelmed, and very, very thankful to be here.

I can’t wait to read more.

  12. My 3rd year of the half marathon! Oh my, that’s a total of 36 poems! These 12 hours are my most productive and a joy to read all the other poets work. Can’t wait for next year 🙂

  13. I did not think I would be able to participate this year, as I am going on this day to Spain to prepare for a colloquium I am giving and to see a dear friend who lives in Madrid. I will have to get up at 3:00 in the morning and buffel along until three in the afternoon. I hope my friend will understand this. Because afterwards, I will probably be more like a zombie than anything else. But I just could not give it up without a try.
