What does a moment of joy really mean?

Does it strike faster than bolts of lightning?

Or fall slowly like a shower of rain?

Or is it just listening to birds sing?

 

How can you measure a moment of joy?

Can it be counted off your fingertips?

Is it simpler than gifting a child toys?

Or much sweeter than a cup of dole whip?

 

How you feel when a baby holds your hand

Or a puppy comes bounding up to you

It could be seeing your favourite band

Or discovering that your dreams came true

 

Because a moment of joy is a thing of beauty

Warming you up like a hot cup of tea
