Hello! I’m Nobody! But, if you had to call me, call me Namratha #poetrymarathon #intro

To get things started, here is a poem by Emily Dickenson for you:

I’m Nobody! Who are you?

I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!

Hello! I’m Nobody! But, if you had to call me, call me Namratha.

I am from India, and I love poetry. As with most poets, I have spells when the words flow, punctuated by verse-drought. I haven’t been able to sit myself at a desk this past month, and have been scribbling poems on scraps of paper or more often, in whatsapp messages to myself!

I have signed up for the full marathon, hoping to sit and write the distance! I am excited and doubtful, to say the least! I will be publishing all my posts as private, but I believe it will be accessible to all of you who are a part of the marathon.

Anyways, I am giving it a shot 🙂 Good luck y’all! Pop into my comments to say Hello or introduce yourself. Looking forward to writing and reading with you.

Cheers!

Namratha

  1. Welcome! I love the poem you shared by Emily Dickinson. I’ve never come across that one and now it looks like it’s going to be a favourite! ” I have spells when the words flow, punctuated by verse-drought”….beautiful! Thank you for sharing and happy writing!
