Good day & well met my fellow poets!!

I am a Shawnee Gypsy Jew social justice humanist who sees tattoos as physical manifestations of emotional scars and lost count of mine somewhere around 20.

As I write this…

As I write this, half my eye is on the virtual court and the other half is on the prompts and welcoming posts from the team. Out here, work is on full swing, albeit virtually. Its another busy week and I have crazy butterflies in my stomach looking forward to the weekend…. I know I ramble, but I just am so nervous. It’s like being in school again with a major project to submit!

Birthing some poems amongst chaos

Hi everyone! I am a high school English teacher in Colorado. I teach 10th and 11th grade and also creative writing and I am the literary magazine coach. This is my first half marathon. I am really excited, but also a little worried because everything is going a little wrong at my house. My computer died this weekend and our busted fridge is limping along and because of Covid it is taking way too long to get a new one. Plus my dog has to have physical therapy after hip surgery, so I suspect I will be writing a lot of poems on my phone instead of on an extra computer that we have. But I’m going to hold my chin up and give it a go because I survived teaching in a pandemic, so I figure I can handle this. Tune in to see if I pull it off!

Lighter Now

With all this light, it’s hard to sleep. Poems come into my mind at night. Rhymes: light, write, sight, height, fight…. Fright..12 new poems. I did it last year and had a lot of fun. I was thrilled to have one of my poems chosen for the Poetry Marathon Anthology. I’m excited to see what comes this time. See you all soon. Nancy Canyon

Hi Y’all!

Hello everyone! This is my third year participating in the poetry marathon, and I’m excited to see what my brain will turn out this year. Looking forward to hanging with you all soon!

Introduction

I am excited to be part of 2021 Poetry Marathon.  I had participated in the Half-Poetry Marathon 2016, 2019 & 2020 and complete Poetry Marathon 2015 & 2017.

Based on my experience, this is how I prepare for a Poetry Marathon:
1. Set up Poetry Marathon with advance – Be familiar how to post –
2. Sleep well the night before.
3. Join and follow Facebook Group Posts, days in advance.
4. Check Prompt every hour and create my poem to post in that hour.
5. Write poem on a word document before publish it to the website.
6. Read and comment other’s poems
7. Best of all, HAVE FUN!
Wishing all poetry Marathoners a great time!

Hi fellow marathoners :)

Hi fellow marathoners, I am Nehal from India. I have been reading and writing poetry from when I was a child, quite literally. I wrote my first piece of poetry in Hindi when I was seven years old. Though I haven’t quite had the courage to share the vulnerable side of myself through my words initially, I am now more than comfortable to read and feel between the lines and to make space for my emotions to dance and pop through the words.

For me, poetry is healing, uplifting, and probably, solely and concretely the only thing that got me through the pandemic. I cannot wait to engage with y’all and for starters, I would be participating in the Half marathon. I really wish and hope that I am able to pull it off. Besides anything, I am looking forward to sharing my work with amazing and talented people who are participating in this marathon from all over the world, hoping we could connect over words and I am equally excited to read the masterpieces that you guys are gonna create. More power to y’all. Let’s do this, marathoners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers!! Good day and my best wishes to everyone 🙂

Hello Fellow Marathoners 2021

Hello Everyone,

My name’s Ana Marie and this is my 2nd venture into the Half Marathon. I go by AMANA in the Poetry Marathon. I can say that I’m thrilled to be writing with you all again, and counting the days until D-day. I know that this is no easy feat but I am looking forward to enjoying it as much as I can, focusing really hard on the task at hand, finishing the journey to the end and coming up with a collection for publishing into a chapbook, hopefully. At the moment you can find some of my writing at
