Some Place

Take me to a place
Take me somewhere,
far away

Someplace where no one comes
where I am unseen
and I am alone

Someplace incredible
unimaginable

Take me to a place
Take me somewhere,
on the way

Someplace where the sun shines bright
where the songbirds delight
and take a flight

Someplace magical
and mystical

Take me to a place
Take me somewhere,
come what may

Someplace where thunders are heard
rainbow’s curved
and my purpose served

Someplace full of colors
and full of hope

Star Wars

Blast me away from twin suns and the sand folks

far from the harvest and uncle’s demands

Off to place where saving a rebel

or fighting a metal Death Star is done

Get me a ship I’ll be a pilot

Yes I can fly it with R2 on hand

I’ll use the force just as Old Ben Kenobi has taught me to

We’ll blast through this port and get you to your base now

Let’s rescue of her droids and save our skins and everyone else’s too

‘Xecpt for the clone army of storm troopers in our way

Off to place where saving a rebel

or fighting a metal Death Star is done

Get me a ship I’ll be a pilot

Yes I can fly it with R2 on hand

Prompt #11 ~ Post # 11 ~

Taken from the song I Can Hardly Imagine

I find myself the same way.

Oh I can hardly imagine

the view I will have on that day.

I remember when my dad had passed

and I heard the words that first time.

All I could think of was, “Daddy,

you’re there in His presence, the Divine.”

And yes, someday I will be there

on the streets, I hear of solid gold.

Where brilliant colors will surround me

And my eyes will not be able to behold.

IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE – Hour 11

IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE

Next Sunday A.D.

Hey dude you found my frequency, I’m so grateful you’re here

You sure might not believe me but I’ve had a crazy year

I’m trapped up on this satellite with all these crazy bots

and this maddened lady scientist who’s calling all the shots

She makes us watch bad movies and it really is the pits

You gotta send some help before I up and call it quits.

Help me man, I’m SOL on the Satellite of Love!

No don’t sign off, I’m not insane, you can queue it up and see

It’s a madman’s own experiment and it’s on Netflix TV

She monitors my sanity to see if I’m still here

and even when I do comply I live each day in fear

The bots are here to help me and we have a lot of fun

Inventing things and playing skits to cheer up everyone

The bots, man, they’re all really great, see for yourself, it’s true

If you’re the man to get us out we’ll all come chill with you.

Help me man, I’m SOL on the Satellite of Love!

Look I don’t care ‘bout all you say that’s going on down there

I’ll risk riots or pandemics, I don’t need to cut my hair

I’ve just gotta get out of here before I’m really nuts

I can’t watch one more cheesefest dude, no ifs or ands or buts

I’ve built us all an escape pod, our plan is grand and new

So if I get us out of here, can we come crash with you?

Help me man, I’m SOL on the Satellite of Love!

Tokyo

I’d like to go to Tokyo,
Where I could be lost in a crowd
I’d like to order food by pointing to pictures
And waking up early to try sushi in the fish market.
I’d like to go to Tokyo,
And have people stare at me
because I look as different as I feel.
I’d like to go to Tokyo,
So that miscommunication would be a given.
I wouldn’t have to try so hard.
It wouldn’t matter
I wouldn’t be understood.
Yes, I’d like to go to Tokyo.

Hour 11 (2020)

Where she lays her head

on pillows, on desks, on grandfathers chests

in grass that grows tall, on dolls and in shawls

to daydream or sleep, to write or to eat

I yearn but to tread where she lays her head,

so that hers may now lay next to mine

Cast Out

poor burned Angel
fallen from the sky
your wings have burned
feathers singed
and still you ascend
you’re so naive
limping back
to the one who hurled you
rest a while
let me help
you can rage and rant
but it won’t heal your wings
they told you I was evil
but who has kept you safe?
you are gorgeous, Angel
burns and scars
the only proof you’re even real
those eyes like blue morning glories
hair fluffy and dark
a warrior’s heart and mind
surely it’s their loss
but, alas, you still take flight
you apologized
before you left
perhaps you’ll still come back

Fears

Fears.

It stays with you, whether you far or near.

It can be something as simple as the creepy noises you hear at night.

Or something different, like having stage fright.

Sometimes fears make you feel weak.

It makes you feel vulnerable, so that help you don’t seek.

But does anyone really not experience fear?

Whether it’s about bugs or those imaginary voices that you hear.

At times it feels like your fears controls you.

It takes you in it’s grasp and holds you.

That’s why you have to face your fears.

It’s okay if sometimes it leaves you in tears.

Because that’s all part of the process.

So just pick your head up and try your best.

Narnia

What I love most about Narnia
is how easy it is to get there —
the simple process of stepping
through the wardrobe and landing
in a place of magic.

When I visit Narnia,
I will meet the faun and magicians
and the amazing lion named Aslan.
When I visit Narnia, I will crunch across the snow,
as it is always winter there,
and drink Turkish delights.

When I visit Narnia,
I will have tea with Mr. and Mrs. Beaver
and I will steer clear of the wolves and the witches
and perhaps I will stay forever
in this magical world not just a while
but forever.
