22. Money is Me

Money is me

Me is Money

I am my honey

Money bunny

It’s all in me

Pouring from within

Money is me

Me is money

My dearest honey

Money Bunny

I am in love with

My money

I am in love with

My Money Bunny

I am in money with

My love

My love Bunny

My dearest honey

95 Words

The words

in

front of me

won’t stay

still,

they race

with

each other

and seem

drunk

on their

own

cleverness

at

telling

a

good

story.

Cheeky buggers!

Words

like

pirate,

vampire

and

time,

all things

that are

pretty

outlandish

march

across

the page

and

all of a

sudden

I see

a ship’s plank,

razor teeth

and

chiming clocks

with my

brain’s

eyes.

Words

like

poverty,

loss

and

love

make my

heart

hiccup

and

something

in me

changes

and I can’t

go back

to who

I

used

to

be.

All of

this

because

of

words.

Poem no. 23 Six Weeks

Six weeks, they tell me,
is just long enough to build a habit;
I listen and I act impressed.
The inference here, of course,
is that I will soon forget the old
while at the same time I create the new.

But what if these six weeks I am gifted now as a beneficence
remain instead filled with hungry glances to
your corner, to my seat, to your grotty rug
as I wait to see you there? Or packed with
awkward pauses at an open door
held ajar a single beat – a moment longer – than it ought to be
allowing you to walk through before I do?
Or the unweighted silence of my empty lap that does not
have you curled, determined, purring, ammonite-like upon my knee?

Because I loved you, I will still look for you;
and miss you in the places where you used to be.
Six weeks may build a habit, yes;
but will not teach me to forget you and what you meant to me.

Nature Smiles daily

With a drop of water I save

Let’s keep Earth happy!

Strange Sweet Laughter

This poem is actually about Mopsy, the very first cat in our family, who lived to be a grand old lady of 19 and was named after the rabbits Mopsy, Flopsy, Cottontail and Peter, in Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Peter Rabbit. :)

Strange Sweet Laughter

You will be remembered
you will be missed
as sure as this
time next year will come around again
leaving victims of the verb
to be Decembered.

Neither taken by the hand nor kissed
one more casualty of the vain
hope that New Year will change
tomorrow's game
and fortune will raise a glass
and join us getting pissed
or partaking some other herb or poison
to transform days
into daydreams.

With strange sweet laughter
Passed
like water
stretching beyond the horizon
and the sunset after
evening glitter caught your eyes
and all else ceased to matter.

You will be remembered
amongst driftwood memories
dashed on rocks.
You will be missed
and every sigh that passes lips
along with breath
will echo with your voice,
never lost.

All three

There are times – frequent –
even after three decades, more
where you wonder what they
would say, how they would react
to a given moment, my situation

sit-downs full of wisdom never
the style of any of them
they lived life, in an honest,
straightforward way, taking pains
to assure that I did as well

An only child, I was the focus
the one who learned how to
fish, saw, chop, hammer, build,
play cards, bowl, love baseball.

Love life, give it your best. Live.

Every once in a while, I still hear a
voice; dad, Gramps, grandpa Ivar
mixing and matching each to the
situation at hand, the moment

Long since passed from the scene
I can always rely on what they left me;
for safekeeping, and to draw on;
a whole lot of themselves

missing you -#23

nobody has to tell me what this is
no strange illness or mysterious disease
the late night aches and early morning blues
have lasted longer than expected
the insane need for conversation into the middle of the night
used to be good for my mind and body
but the recent lack if seems to make it hard for me
to concentrate
and my daily dose of kisses were good
for my overall attitude not to mention my smile
which happens less and less these days
i don’t need no doctor to tell me
i’m missing you
cuz you did a body good

Teacher

You were formidable,

my first crush.

You surely knew the hold you had on me.

I picked up the chalk pieces, put up

the new bulletin board,

and followed you after class

when i noticed you were crying.

i had no idea what had happened

but you did, your surely knew. Your

husband was in Vietnam.  Maybe he was

never coming back. i followed you

to your car, my heart breaking on

your behalf. I gave you my most

precious treasure, a 45 of “Hey Jude.”

You smiled, and gave it back.

Mocking Jay

I am who I am and I

can’t feel or show fear.

It’s hard, but I must be

a model for the others.

They tried to destroy me,

but the hunger games never

defeated me. On the contrary,

I became much stronger!

The games are over now

and I can live my life, I can

focus on my love for my husband

and for my adorable children!

The games defined my character

and now I am free to love and to live!

#11 berlin

a city that kept a girl, i knew,

we shared the same name, which berlin says

once again, at this time, almost new.

i have been invited. but will i find her standing

cigarette in hand, in love, with the same man?

trusting pills, but not intuition, following ego and hedonism,

breeding obsession, praying for money, and

finally, bowing down in tearful submission. the dream

stays still in berlin, not breathing or moving, tacked

in congealed delirium, called living in the moment.

from the intestine, time never passes, a döner

can be eaten within the spasm of a denial, and

a genau is more than necessary. peter pan made

here his heaven but for me, i choose to leave

the place of the fools. i’ve replaced shields to

skin, still wary of the land of discarded visions, yet ready,

to join in the final requiem for the girl, whose giggles,

i may have forgot.
