The stones have been there
since the beginning
no, not of time
perhaps of our time
of our time in that place

The stones have served
as a marker, as a title
as a force, a reminder

They hold the secrets
of talks overheard
of kisses and misses
they witnessed
of bodies discovered
and those that were lost

Little Dunn’s River

A sweet retreat for two.

Water rushing in a cool pool of turquoise and blue.

Fruit wine aged for over 15 years opens the path to this natural wonder.

Two seed beads are placed overhead in unison.

Lovers clasp hands as they traverse the falls, a tributary vein to one of the eight rivers of the parish heart.

The Vagus nerve stimulated from head to toe from the spray.

Apophenia -Pareidolia in the rocks overhead are said to display two in one, possibly Bob Marley or his son.

He sees heart shaped stars when he wakes, and she sees tissue in the shape of paper hearts at her feet.

Both see hearts overhead in the sky when they meet.

Ode to River

The river knows all.
Swift or sluggish,
Swelled or shrunken.
It is versed in the wisdom of the earth –
In the song of the wind as it rustles the foliage,
In the scraping of overlapped branches,
In the crunch of trodden twigs,
In the dance of flowers and the pungency of ripe and rotting fruit.
It has babbled in the speckled light of evening sun through the trees.
It has seen the storm and swelled to meet it.
It has borne the snow, offered its surface to the winter wind, become a smooth sheet of ice,
Waiting for the embrace of spring sunshine
Before cracking, ear-splitting and thunderous,
To reclaim its form,
Regain its flow.
Its depths flavored with the salt of tears, with the rot of plant matter, with the cloying earthiness of mud, with fossil fragment and algal slime.
Tread lightly on its banks;
Pay respect to
Wisdom eternal.

Drip

The water drips drips

listen, absorb

its meaning so deep

it’s not understood.

It’s hard to understand

perhaps we cannot

but my ears can pick up

the rippling sound

The Nature of Reality

I wake up to beautiful blue sky
and a tsunami warning on my iPad.
I check news and weather reports,
but find nothing on earthquakes
or other natural disasters.

Hours later, a message appears
saying the warning was a test.

I take my daily walk
with no device
on my wrist or in my pocket.
No steps will be counted.
Does my walk do me any good?

Coruscant

I keep falling for people who are wound

so tightly they are a marionette

to their own repressed emotion, and

if I spend long enough uncoiling

their laugh lines they come completely

undone, shoulders slumped forward, eyes

bright with tears they didn’t think were

left.

some people just don’t

talk about things

but I am a sparkler broken
in half and lit
from both ends,
coming apart but still
glowing. I am open flame I

will burn that paper mache smile

right off your face my honesty

is catching

don’t come to me with

stone facade.  this spark will never

be contained I

will be ember heat you from

the inside spread like an answer glow

like a beacon like a hearthfire

whenever you need

a place to call

home.

Dancing Hues

Harmonic colors

Dancing across the heavens

Throwing rays of love

Spider (poem 9)

The sticky spiral of a galaxy pulls us toward an unknown center.
The sun is a spider, gravity its slow-strung web to snare us.
One only need to look at the moon, wrapped in pale silk, to know our fate.

A Poem That Was Too Late!

It couldn’t inspire others
Nor was it able to reach them
It couldn’t find it’s voice in time
How could it ever preach them?

It failed to woo the beloved
Of the lonesome lover under the moon
It failed to enthrall the audience
It couldn’t make ladies swoon

And all of it because of
But a moment’s delay
It was a poem too late
For the poet waited to eat a fillet!

And thus away went
The beautiful time of creation
You can’t very well catch a train
Once it leaves the station.

Hour 11 – My Love

My Queen, my ladylove, my mistress

For you, I am lead in days and nights

When you are affixed at home,

I mostly bent on you as a syndrome.

Without you my sphere is anonymous;

I feel my daylight stars are missing.

An indistinct half moon in misery,

Your loving touch can solve that mystery.

When I inhale the lifeblood of your heart

It gives me a strawberry flavor

With a bulky mix of sugar

And as a regular drink.

Our love is self-importantly affirmed,

Immersed with kisses in the stream

Now again slippery wet arms around my body;

Seduced to grab the zeal of your hugs.
