Hour 4

Still going strong!!

Beach Flow

Walking by flowing blue

Soft browns and tans shift under me

People lounging under bright umbrellas

The sky screams it’s blue color

Soft browns and tans shift under me

Sand flowing almost like water

Moving with each step taken

Warming my toes from the cold water

People lounging under bright umbrellas

Hiding skin from harsh rays as they lay

Soaking in the heat and laughter around

Relaxing before diving into blue water

The sky screams it’s blue color

Clear of clouds and wanting to be seen

Blue sky fighting against blue water

Wish people could dive into the sky

I am a girl I know

I am a girl I know
But not a bird in a cage
Who can see the sky but not reach it
I am a girl I know
But not a slave in a prison
Who can imagine freedom but not live with it
I am a girl I know
But not a puppet in someone’s hands
Whose actions are controlled by someone else
I am a girl I know
But also a human
Who can dream the sky and also reach it
Who can imagine freedom to live with it
Whose actions are controlled only by herself
I am a girl I know

Endow Mercy on Me, My Benign Soul

Endow mercy on me, my benign Soul!

Knowest thou that I am thine,

I have naught but human words

To shape and accomplish our dreams.

Pay heed upon me, my benign Soul.

I have and will abscond my entire life,

Adhering to your preachings,

Just ponder the torment I endure,

Spending a life without you, my Soul.

Endow mercy on me, my benign Soul!

You have bestowed and laden me with thy love, my Sweets.

You have blessed me fortune beyond my grasp.

You have revealed me what beauty of life is.

Your ecstasy and delight is everlasting,

And my body suffers in anticipation.

This my benign Soul is utterly perplexing.

You are highly rich in wisdom, and

This body of mine is poor in compromising.

Oh! My benign Soul, thy Sweets

is suffering coz of our distance apart.

In the tranquillity of deep, darkened night you pay

homage and engulf in the sweetness of each other.

Thus, lying arm in arm in peace,

Endow mercy on me, my Soul!

Nuclear

Clutter of humanity cackle past

their cocoon of cheap beer and sunscreen.

Afternoon inertia.

The scorching red of a languid sun.

They take a stroll among the flying shades

animated by an intruding breeze,

and the cigarettes that meet

their violent end.

The waves beat a shuddering retreat.

And the crunching shells under the feet

A Friend In Need

Like rain drops falling from the sky,

they appear at my house.

I’ve looked at my door,

To see if there is some special mark,

Like the hobos of old made

For friendly stops

Of course, I find none, knew I wouldn’t,

they know just the same.

A friend in times of need lives here.

Some are just passing through,

Others, too sick or too tired, stay.

With that special vision they have,

cats know where a friend lives.

Those that stay I rename with

One they reveal to me.

I give them all the same middle name – Lucky.

All their needs are met, by me and by the vet.

I provide unconditional love and peace,

And the vet, she does her thing too.

Sometimes they linger and grow healthy,

other times they just linger for the hospice.

Either way, I love them all,

And they respond in kind.

3 Angry Parent

We swirl around each other,
his tears prick my eyes.
Anger bounces between us,
standing in for the ballgame we should be playing.

My brain reads about itself.
The machine making aware of its formation.
I say I practice breathing.
I don’t. I just breathe. When I remember.

Do others
develop multiple parts?
The one who rages and traumas into madness,
while another gently tells the first, “Hush now. We’re alright.”

If I Could Define Love

A love story so bold

Must be elegantly told

A story I must tell

When love was really well

If it can be measured

Love must be treasured

In the cold or in the heat

Love is sweet

Love can be heard

With just half a word

Love has a wavelength

That is only our strength

I wish I was a singer

So I could make love linger

Love has taught me

To say forget me not

Love is a part

Straight from the heart

Love is dealing

With a special feeling

Love is the link

That makes the heart think

Love is a gift

That gives you a lift

Love is a glue that

Holds people two

Love is a narcotic

Better than tonic

Bitter or sweet

Love is a treat

Love can teach

Things out of reach

Love as such

Is never too much

Love is a God given right

Hold on to it tight

My Morning’s Predicament -Prompt 4

O, Kitty! Wherefore art thou

With your white fur all over my bed

You purr and against my arm bump your head.

You gorgeous thing are in my way.

O, Kitty! Wherefore art thou

So fickle as a flighty sprite

So patient  with some who hold your gaze

So angry with others for no reason I can cite

With your white fur all over my bed

I watch in dismay as you constantly shed

But perhaps you’ll shed light on my inquiry

Why did you come here right now?

You purr and against my arm bump your head.

No answer for my question.

You lick your fur and say not a word

Leaving me feeling quite absurd.

Dumb cat…
