Poem 24

Blossom

blossom in her eyes
sprout of kindness in her heart
the greenery inside her mind
and the vines that intertwine the soul of us

the seedling of hope in her dreams
and leaves of beauty on her skin
are fructified by the divine roots in her veins

a human with a thornless intention
in this life
may she have an everlasting blossom.

His Tenderness Abounds /prompt 22/6am

It’s through His tenderness that we,

Learn to love unconditionally

He leads us by His divine example

His patience unwavering and ample

If nothing more we get to be

Sinners that repent for His glory.

Come one come all you’ll be relieved

His arms are eager to receive

Stardust (2022 Poem 24)

Stardust
You loved that song
I had forgotten
Until this moment
Now my heart aches

You loved daisies too
I will not forget again
I would carve it all into my palms
Before I too am
Stardust

(Prompt: Write a poem that starts and ends with the same word. It can be short, but it has to be at least five lines long. If you can’t think of your own word to start and end with here are my suggestions: hope, stardust, cheese, sleep, and shoes.)

Hour 23 Endings

Now as a movie ends,

it fades to a black screen.

The music begins

as the names and titles

scroll upwards.

Listening to the music

in silence I’d read

through in search of you.

Those I’s and O’s that

spelled out your name.

The reward in finding it

among the many hundreds before you.

Now you no longer appear,

like a fragment of time

of imagination.

I remember you every morning I wake

look at your pictures and videos

left on your social media.

Endings good and bad are never easy.

You’re a movie I didn’t want to end.

Evening of life
waiting at the doorway
Primrose oil lamp burns
scarlet flames rise unwittingly
and embrace the lovely evening

Hour Twenty Four-Pillowtalk

i feel a daisy move near my ear,

i may have drifted off into my dreams.

eyes closed- a whiff of his cologne brings a familiar warmth.

‘go back to sleep love’, he tells me.

my dreams aren’t as beautiful as this right now.

I move closer, my hand rests on his stubble.

eyes closed- he lets out a sigh.

knowing smiles exchanged, i hear the thoughts in his mind.

brown eyes tell me to hold on for some more time.

from tickles to pillow-talk,

his only wish, to have it all.
