Poem 7

After the storm

After the
harsh wind blew ~ the
leaves
off
the
trees

After the rain

the life
off the beings

After
the gray clouds
deprived the

ground of sunlight

there you’ll see a new life
may it be a seedling of plant, or
of hope
every new beginning is beautiful.

Always live to see what’s after the storm.

Hour 4: Duck Doggen

swimming on Mars is magical

underground pools, mid air pools,

you choose which one to duck in

But

urinate in water, Doggen will execute you

for drink poisoning.

Sharing a View – Hour 7

Based on the photo prompt

There’s no greater pleasure

than time spent with you

your arm wrapped around me

as we take in a view.

The warmth of your body,

pressed close to my side,

shows all around us

a love we won’t hide.

The touch of your hand

makes me tingle inside;

I’m a woman in love

my heart true and tried.

Please keep on sharing

your views of this life,

for working together

we can live free from strife.

Hour 7 – Pinky Promise!

Hour 7 – Pinky Promise!

People say pinky promises are childish

I say does the inner child ever leave?

Nothing is ever worth breaking it

Know I’m a man of my word

You have my word

Pictured as evidence

Rosie sends hers too

Over the last few years, we’ve kept everyone

Making it a friendship worth having

Ignore what people say

Stay true to your word

Everyone will know then.

7. Kite

I want to make a kite,
as big as a house ,
paint it in colors,
bright and shiny,
and fly it from a hill
with a thread that never ends.
I want to fly it so high up
and maybe fly with it.
To the never ending sky
and see the world,
the little people, their little homes,
and their little affairs.
Throw candies from above
and never let them forget
about the mysterious candy rain
and all the conspiracies that follow.
That’s how I intend to live
after I die in forest cabin.

Hour 7 (Bleak)

The lights are swirling
Round and round inside my head
The thoughts and darkness
Up my once retired head

Sorting through the garbage
All the rubbish left behind
better poetry writing
Is the best thing for me

Today I’ve been feeling
sightly unlike myself
Some days my mind is screaming
With images from my past

Depression is trying to come
But when I write at my best
The thoughts, the dreams
The feelings, the uneasiness

Discarding the old images of my past
Maybe just the thing I need
Cause lately I’ve been dreaming
And the pictures are looking bleak…

Fire

She’s a speck
A breezy little bit
Hummin along.
Like an octopus fighting the ocean.

She has no problem standin tall
Waves crashing
Water slipping between boogie board and feet
The sea is trying to push her aside
None of that for speck.

She’s straight, like a strong stem
But she still has bend
Flex
Flow if needed
Others are stuck straight
Bone wall straight
Nerves putting in a rigid fix from toe to head

Their gonna topple too.
How’s that little bit brave enough to face a whole ocean?
I’m barely strong enough to brave the blank page.

Tiny Butterfly

Tiny Butterfly

Tiny butterfly spreading its wings
ready to carry two worlds
one old, one new
one to live, one to give
then rest on a choicest tendril
among leaves
to do the same act
all over again

A Mother’s Love

A mothers love is something that you should never forget

a tear rolling down her cheek , is something that you should never let

the first person she worries about is you

she’s someone that you can count on , even on the days that you’re feeling blue

she remembers you first in all of her prayers

and smiles , even through all of her broken layers

she gives you her all and expects nothing in return

when you’re out and about, sometimes a little remembrance is what she yearns

A mothers love , so so pure

and in my opinion , it’s the best cure

Lookout

Ryan wants to detour to Septimus Hill
Where there’s a lookout overlooking
Half the plains to the sea
Been arguing about it for hours

He wants to get a lie of the land
Like he imagines himself a kind of General
His words: foolish, a nonsensical notion
But since he’s driving we do regardless

I worry we’ll be too exposed on bare rock
Why take any additional unnecessary risk?
But we do. Park partway up the hill
While there is still tree cover of a kind

& hike. Twenty minutes of thigh-crunching
Slog! The did I get so unfit? I play netball.
I run. But right now I burn. Whereas my oddball
Ironman has barely cracked a sweat.

Finally arrive at the summit & wish I had water
A couch, & a masseuse who knows acupuncture
Amazed just how much dust there is
Between here & the blurred horizon

& for the first time — I realise — how quiet
No insects, very few almost hesitant birdcalls
(no song) & no sign of movement on any roads
In any paddock in any direction

The stillness is sublime. Until we see a car
Slowly trundling along a distant road.
Almost instantly a drone roars in from the south
Two quick bolts of light & the car’s smoking.

The sonic boom hits us a few seconds later.
Shit Ryan remarks drily. Might have to rethink our approach.
