….before the madness begins!
Or is it one more sleepĀ until I loosen the reigns and let the thoughts become what they want to become, let the ideas flow and just go along for the ride?
There is something very freeing about setting everything else aside; the chores can wait and lord knows they will.
This weekend is for me.
Grateful to be here for my first marathon.
This is my first time participating in the Poetry Marathon. For the longest time, I thought that writing poetry was only for people far more talented, intelligent and sophisticated than myself. Luckily I no longer give a damn, so here we go. I want to challenge myself creatively. I want to be more fearless. So whether my poetry is funny, ridiculous, amazing, embarrassing or just bad, I will be putting it out there!

This is my second year š
If you fancy finding out a little ore about me … check out my website
I am 70 year old pharmaceuticalĀ scientist living in Hyderabad, India. I retired from active research just months ago.
I have been addicted to reading from a very tender age. Soon graduated to creative writing in English as well as my native languageĀ Tamil.
My academic and professional career did not leave me much time to indulge in my passion. Now that I have time on my hand, I am very active on several Facebook platforms. I have written poetry and short stories. My work has been well received by my fellow writers and judges of the online contests.
This has given me confidenceĀ to undertake this tough challenge. Counting on the support of fellow participants
Hey! I’m checking to see if I can post this correctly before we get going on Saturday!
It’s been eight years since the first time I journeyed through a marathon in 2014.Ā I’m ready and excited for the challenge.
I’m Angel. I’m 28 and living in Pennsylvania. I’ve been writing for all of my life, especially the last ten years. My second book, Blake, came out in April and it was Amazon’s best-selling poetry book by a woman & a LGBTQIA+ poetry book for a few days.
I’m autistic and I live with depression and OCD.Ā Both of my dogs passed away in the last six weeks.Ā They were my greatest loves and I am working on figuring out the meaning of life without dogs.
My best friend is moving away in a few weeks.Ā I expect I will be focusing on grief poems.
Thank you for making space for me.
Hello,
I’ve done the Poetry Marathon twice in the past 8 years and figured I give it another try this year as I’m trying to cultivate another heart,Ā a healed one, in my writing. Looking forward to the challenge! JESUS loves you: God bless!
Hi everyone!
Super excited to be doing my second half marathon this year from Ottawa, Canada. I loved the challenge and learning I got out of this last year and can’t wait to read everyone’s beautiful poems on Saturday š

Hi! I’m Caitlin Jans, I did my first marathon a decade ago when Jacob and I came up with the idea. We’ve taken a few years off during that decade to have kids, but I’ve done the half or full marathon most years since then.
This year I plan on doing the half marathon, but I said that last year, and 24 hours later I had 24 poems, so we’ll see what happens.
I write a lot in modern form. I don’t have a particular vision for the poems this year, other than I plan to write them at home, with Jacob, as I usually do
