“Indecisive”

“Indecisive”

I can’t decide what to write.

There’s too many options.

There’s not enough time.

There’s so many thoughts and feelings.

Do I have to pick just one?

This is the last one of this marathon. . .

It went by so quickly.

Although, I’m excited for my bed.

Now, I’m off-track.

I was trying to make a decision.

But those are never easy.

on a good day,

bad day

and anything

in between.

On the side

Melted, running off the plate
Satiate
Hurry kids
Run in quick before it is too late.

grilled up slapped on bread.
On a pizza for my cheese head.
Feta mozarella and some blend.
They eat up til the end.

Cheese on watermelon? Getting weird!
Cheese strawberries worse than feared.
Throw some of the cheese into a cake
Mix it all up and watch it bake.

Cheese you’re piled in our our ice box.
More cheese than we have tiny socks.
My littles never tire of you
Munching down the whole day through.

Hour 23 – Cheese Poem (text prompt)

What’s so gouda ’bout cheese?

Feta’vall it’s delicious

I’Monterey’ve about all the types, Jack

Colby here a while

But I’ll try to Brie Swiss about it

While I Whey in on all the varieties

Don’t feel Bleu, if it gruyere on me

It’ll grow on you here too

If you Crambert the puns,

I Curd be persuaded

To cease to Pepper in more names Jack

I don’t see the Parmesan ‘swering your questions

And I must say your cheddar is pretty Sharp.

Okay the parmesan one is a stretch

Mozzarella!

An Ode To Kweku

When we meet, melodies strike abound

More than friends, more than a bond

Our souls meet and jiggle to our bounce

O’ K, let that music send her praise

Today is Sunday

And by Friday, your song will make sense once again

Let us not depart by sins

Of the keys you handed to me

G shall I sing — until then

Hour 23: Oh Cheese, My Cheese

Delectable cheese
Exquisite cheese
So many kinds to choose.
A sharp and yummy cheddar or
A tangy taste of blue.
The creamy goodness of camembert
Luscious, thick goat cheese
A gouda, a mozzarella
Hand it over please!
I love to munch on cheese slices
Wedges, or maybe on a plate
I love to spread it on crackers
Tempting my cheesy palate.
The world would be much poorer
Without cheese in our possession
I love to eat my choices of cheese
That’s my final confession!

Hour 23-Uninspired

I am uninspired

I guess I’m just tired

Caught in word stream

Wish I had ice cream

I hate being a poet

I want you to know it

I stand at the brink

these poems really stink

An hour to go

This really blows

Can’t wait for my bed

To get out of my head

Golden Wheat

Gazing up up
at the grains above me
I know it’s crop
just like they bring to
The elevator
Delicious grains
My favorite ones
When the truck’s come
We’d put our hands out
When they opened the sluice gate
To the back of the truck
And slant it backwards
To dispose of their golden wheat
barley was good too
(but rye was YUCK)
It was as yummy as candy
I’d hold my skirt out and fill my apron up
Run away from my brother and steal my own weight
In the farmer’s crop
My dad would laugh
The farmer had already been paid
My dad ran the elevator
It was only the cartel who lost
A child’s apron of grain
If I was wearing a bonnet,
I’d fill that first
Like a greedy mouse
I’d scamper off with my hoard
Chewing and chomping
Seeds fresh from the stems
Soft and still green
It was a little taste of heaven

Watching the stalks
Of gold wheat overhead
They’re ready for harvest
I doubt anyone still has as much fun
Now with the grain coming in
As I once did
