(#6/24): “Comfort” Posted on August 6, 2017 8:33am EDT by SilverQuiver Seeing my bold child, Taking off her training wheels, Oddly reassures. © 2017 S Phua
I like the contrast of boldness and the need for reassurance. I picture a lively, confident child and a supportive parent — quite a tender scene. Reply
Ok – trying not to respond too much to poems that already have responses, especially if I don’t have much new to say. But I really like this and I’m going to do it anyway. I see myself and my bold child in this. She’s 21 now, and all that backbone I made sure she kept (against all advice) is working for her well. So the poem is evocative, personally meaningful, and emotionally resonant with me. In just a bitty sweet haiku. Well done. Reply
This snippet of experience holds the entire life story each must take. Gentle, strong, hopeful, full of faith. Thank you! Reply
