The Magic Hour -prompt 10

I’d never seen anything like it before.

I’d never see it again ever more.

The way the light played through the glass.

The way it changed as time did pass.

Amazing, intriguing and delightful.

I was so lucky to get a sight full.

I could not describe such reds… All I can do is say it turned heads.

All I can do is say it turned heads.

I could not explain such hues

All I can see are the deep blues

The vibrant colors of that world

The vibrant flavors that came with them.

Unlike the others, I knew this was a rare treat

Unlike the others, this magician had pulled off a mean feat

When he left we’d all be robbed.

Roommate Violation-Prompt 9

Spider

Up on my wall

You’ve violated our much-spoken contract.

You know I welcome you into this home on one condition.

You may stay as long as I do not see you.

Perhaps it was an error on my part

I’ll turn away for a moment.

1… 2… 3… NO!

Oh hell no!

Why would you move closer?

Now Your fate is sealed.

You get no say, you’re through.

You’re getting squished.

SMACK!

Time to look for a new roommate.

A Conflict of Interests-prompt 8

I hope I don’t offend the two
who’ve led me down many roads
For at this point our paths have diverged
I’m not the same way as they outside or in
And I’m not going to apologize for a
different opinion on golden wood,
I know better. Still, I’m grateful I suppose and
I know could have done worse…I—
For give me for forgetfulness. I
Do not regret the path I took
Surely they will understand the
choices I make are no less important than the one
or more lessons they taught to me. Though I promise I’ve made no less
mistakes with my own choices than with their’s, I wish to have traveled
far beyond where they expected and I will no longer just stand by
Credit to Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken

The Beginning is the end. Prompt 7

If I bring you the whole bush

It’ll be a chill time

But I know better now

I hope you like these flowers

Words are fun to write

Here is where it starts

Words are out of sight

Picking them took hours

I’ll bring you the whole Bush somehow.

Just another way to kill time.

The flowers won’t die or smush.

Betty Boop, One-Dog Pup Troop -Prompt 6

This dog won’t leave me alone

Typing one-handed

as she begs me for a bone.

Or attention, whichever works for me.

This little monster is so excited

Just to be here

She’s so happy to have been invited!

She climbs up on my keyboard

Then backs up without typing a word.

Expecting belly-rubs just for existing

She’s so cute, unstoppable and persisting.

So I give in and the fun truly begins.

Writing has never been better.

That’s all I really can say.

The House On Catamaran -Prompt 5

There is a House on Catamaran

Where I used to go in the summer

Or the winter or the fall depending

It was usually my mother’s call

When we’d visit the House on Catamaran

It was a beautiful House on Catamaran

With a white picket-fence and wisteria overhang

And a cobble-stone path all the way to the door

I’ve never seen anything like it since or before.

That beautiful House on Catamaran.

I remember so much about the House on Catamaran

Like the three willow trees in the front yard,

The river that never ran, next to the jasmine bushes

I remember how the jasmine bushes grew over the porch sometimes

Entangling the House on Catamaran.

There was a playHouse on Catamaran

That my grandfather and dad built

It was made for the grandkids to play in

With a kitchen and dollhouse it gave pretend a new spin

As if we had our own House on Catamaran.

I miss the House on Catamaran

With its wide porch and wider yard

I miss the times with Cassie our golden

And the times we’d play dress up and cards.

I’ll always sorely miss the House on Catamaran.

We no longer visit the House on Catamaran

My grandparents no longer live there.

The ownership changed and new housing was arranged.

In the same city but not the same space.

I’ll never again visit the House on Catamaran

My Morning’s Predicament -Prompt 4

O, Kitty! Wherefore art thou

With your white fur all over my bed

You purr and against my arm bump your head.

You gorgeous thing are in my way.

O, Kitty! Wherefore art thou

So fickle as a flighty sprite

So patient  with some who hold your gaze

So angry with others for no reason I can cite

With your white fur all over my bed

I watch in dismay as you constantly shed

But perhaps you’ll shed light on my inquiry

Why did you come here right now?

You purr and against my arm bump your head.

No answer for my question.

You lick your fur and say not a word

Leaving me feeling quite absurd.

Dumb cat…

The Android’s False Promise -Prompt 3

It started as a hobby

It started as a game

Everyone wanted a piece

of glory, honor and fame

They came from miles around

Just to look around

The arena was stained red,

and bone pieces littered the ground.

Rain

Blood rain

Blood battle

Death match.

Within the cages lurking,

A creature does now prowl.

Awaiting its next challenger

It lets out a gruesome howl.

Built like a man its secret lies

In bones made of titanium

An android monster hell-bent

On smashing in your cranium.

Rain

Blood Rain

Blood Battle

Death’s Match.

Soon the number piled up

With corpses left and right

And still the spectators came

to watch each epic fight

Soon the sponsors began to worry

If the creature was too strong.

They knew that people might get bored

If the battles took too long.

Rain

Blood Rain

Blood Battle

No Catch.

So glory and fame became a new religion

The sponsors wrote a book

To beat this monster was immediate heaven

And soon the world was hooked

Not one man among them wanted to go to hell

So many came each night

And each night many fell

One after another heard death’s knell.

Rain

Blood Rain

Death Match

No Catch.

Rain

Insane

Blood Rain

Death’s catch.

Now all are dead who would challenge the beast

Now all are majorly deceased

The sign still burns brightly

Inviting the dead in.

Within this cavernous chamber

Now remains their sin.

To think they could out battle

A creature made of fear

It lurks inside still waiting

For a fool to draw near.

The Android Monster ticks

Promising Eternity Now

Glorified in a moment

By blood and guts somehow.

Tongue-Tied Prompt 2

No, I get it. Really, it’s fine.

I worked damn hard to make you mine.

But my tongue said things that made a noose

I failed to stay calm and a tirade’s been let loose.

No, I’m not angry, just disappointed.

Really, there’s no reason to get so disjointed.

These fickle words will forcibly fly,

And like a sword, they’ll cut out an eye.

I’ve hung myself in desperation

Just to convey this conversation.

Yet you cannot seem to understand,

I did this just to hold your hand.

Your eyes they glow, but with apprehension.

Rather than love requited, I receive tension.

Perhaps I’ve missed an important piece?

Or maybe I don’t know any longer how to speak.

Your beauty does make me feel weak.

But deaf ears hear not that which I seek

to convey to you.

So once again, I’m alone and tongue-tied.

Elemental -Prompt 1

Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire,

fueling all that we desire.

And yet that base is often attacked.

Yes, based on history, but more myth than fact.

The world dangles not on elemental ire-

As science has shown whenever we enquire.

Yet still, this spell asks for elements of Earth

With a dash of Air and a touch more self-worth

Because they aren’t elements of the universe,

but rather elements of what we make worse.

Nature based in four small things,

Supposed to give us our spiritual wings.

Perhaps it’s not all that strange?

The fact is whenever we get the urge,

from these elements do power surge.
