March on the Meadow

Step, two, three, four.

Across the floor, out the door,

Where the soft breeze blows

and birds fly free.

Flap, flutter, flitter, fly.

Birds go winging, swooping by,

Where sweet grass grows

in the meadow, green.

Putter, patter, pattern-step.

Past where the silver fox has crept,

Where birches sprinkle dappled shade

and the eagles hide their nest.

Marking, marching, making tracks.

Swans slide by grayed fishing shacks,

Where the water spills through the spring-green glade

and I stop here to take a rest.

Tracing back the way I came.

Rolling clouds spill a spring-time rain.

Where a wandering song fills my heart with light,

and I stroll back through the meadow, bright.

I am golden sun, though I cannot fly.

I am bursting clouds that fill the sky.

My heart spills over and I start to cry…

and ever more the meadow-creatures will talk,

how they tamed me with their nature walk.

Love Song

Sweetly sing your song,

tug at the strings of my heart,

breathe love with your words.

The Little Warrior (For J.)

Valiantly did the little warrior stride

across the mat full of pride

til he was immediately put on his side

A wound he could not hide.

The second round begun

Renewed, not going to run

Shot out like a bullet from a gun

This match, the little warrior won.

The little warrior, victory in hand

Followed by a mighty cheering band

Approaches the old warrior who smiles and stands

“Now go little warrior, and do it again.”

Brain Fog

just clearing the way

may the bridge finally see

forge the better path

afar is too far

distance spans towards happenstance

anxious fears steer clear

frozen glass glazes

gravity pulls clarity

i can see the bridge

Prompt Six (Halfway mark for the half – working it!)

Going Forward

This new pace – to embrace it slowly,
with the care of experience and wisdom?

Or bring forth the wild abandonment of youth –
carry it with me into tomorrow?

… tomorrow being a different rhythm
from yesterday.

Perhaps, dancing forward with a salsa
or meringue in my step?

A pause to catch my reflection (seeing the
possibilities) and then

gliding on with renewed fervor – not
slowing down and waiting for the

years to add up/
add on

but calling out to them and saying,
“Join me, now! There is much to see.”

Meditation (walking prompt)

In this meditation,
you simply take slow steps,
one foot in front of another
and, if you want,
you can think words
with each step.
One step: love.
Another step: peace.
Or… .
One step: hope.
Another step: joy.
Or you can think of names.
One step: Patti.
Another step: Becky.
Sending out energy —
healing loving hopeful energy –
into the universe
for the people you love.

Orphans

That’s who we were.

Stranded by forces beyond our control.

Isolated from all we love.

But we were strong, rose up from the ashes

and come out the other side.

So we should be proud of all we’ve accomplished

and continue that strength

because it will carry us

forward unto dawn

Prompts hours two: Island

Island on a bay

In long Island Florida

Sandy beach we stand

Restaurant’s and clubs to go to and from.

Laid  back corners

And in seats

To dance on floor like two love birds

All night long

Keep on Truckin’–Hour 6

I carried the folding chair under my arm

ambled down to the stop sign

and hung a slow left onto Ukali Street

My waddle paused at the grassy shoulder

to examine the local color

a bookcase offering the odd slipper

Da Slippah Library

for when one side broken

but da other side still good

Nearby where the street emptied

into the Pacific Ocean

I set up my chair facing the trades

the sun to my back

planted my butt

contemplated the sea-flung piles of driftwood

and wondered how much my missing gall bladder had weighed

I spied a perfectly smooth little egg of a stone

aside my foot

hefted the tiny thing

decided that was about right

and slipped it into my shorts to

commemorate the organ

and this modest jaunt

the nurse had recommended

Fire (Hour 6)

Fire

By: LuvMiFreely

(Hour 6)

Watching you do what you love

Got me cheering you on in the background

Seeing your face light up

All that passion in your eyes

Got the fire inside of me burning bright

I’m holding the torch for you

Just in case you forget who you are

I’ll give you your light back

Spark you back up

I’ll never let your fire die out
