freedom wall

the renewed feeling for freedom

deepens in the cascading reality

marvel of spirit engaging in the haven for new dawn

seen in the spirit covered

gearing the pavement for questioning endlessly

whispering from the soul collect

much have been said in the news

point of order where is real an order

order must restored to see the clarity of human existence

Poem 17 | {Not that Pedestal}

By Ajanta Judd All Rights Reserved – 3 pm 28/06/2020 Australian EST

Prompt 17; Hour 17: Write a poem about a form of technology that is obsolete or is headed that way. The technology could just be referred to in passing, like a telephone booth, or it could be a CD that is the focal point of the poem. The degree of focus on obsolete technology is up to you.

{Not that Pedestal}

As Patti la Belle belted out from the old CD player,

She said to me, “You take my breath away, Ajanta”

I replied, “It’s important to breathe

Removing someone’s breath from their body is a concern for me

A heavy responsibility

Will I be too much. Am I too much?

Will that person be enough for me?

Am I already on a pedestal?

Goddesses forbid that for sentient beings

I might be elevated beyond my status as a mere mortal

with all my foibles and idiosyncrasies

which will no doubt emerge over time

personality traits – nuances – nagging little behaviours

The CD will be scratched – the song will stutter and splutter

You will assume and apply judgement

destabilising to a damsel on a pedestal

It could build up quite a wobble and down I’ll crash in your estimation.

This thing we might share – a tenuous possibility

as the beat struggles to play through the flaws

Always the concern in the beginning and after all,

it has been said by others that I am too much for them

and when all was said and done

I was too much for them.

Electric Ghosts of a Lost Era

Water from the sky,

Fortuitous for us soggy chunks of carbon
We dance until we’re thirsty
then We drink and give thanks
And the lightning
Evidence of the lost technology of the gods
flashes and cracks its threats
As if to say
“Although our time has passed
We are still in charge.”

Love’s Purgatory Veiled In Blue

Caught in your smile, the gentle way your lips move as you spoke through anfractuous teeth
grinding out the veracity through geared gristmills, laden with powder–
with what was left of my spirit, catching on the edge of your words.
Thurst away, my back arched as I fell upon a stalagmite, impaling an asinine dream.
I am lost within a cave of vagary, Adam’s ale dripping from the speleothems
collecting tears into the fissures of my pathetic little heart.
How truth is veiled as it sidesteps my pleading, and still I allowed you to linger on
innervating the fibers of my being entangling within the illusion of you.

I carried you with me as I would time, and I watched the hands with bated breath
as the gnomon found its shadow chasing the sun across the expanse of water
Veiled in the blue, my eyes shut tight against the inexorable-
the lingering answer I already knew within my core, yet still I conceived that hope was a better choice.
Encompassed within you is the essence of every desire in life I collected and clutched to my breast
I clung to the latitudinous invention that somewhere within the brine of your heart, a fragmented spark touched off.
Blinded by the veil, as blue as the South Atlantic, I pressed on and pushed away years of languishing, for it had not.
How staggering the truth becomes whilst in a purgatory of the heart, twisted and tormented by the strength of unrequited love.

Thus, I resign myself to my sepulcher deep within the hollow, dressed in a robe of darkness, disconsolately disenchanted
Caught within the spider silk of the veil weaving through my vision, natant upon the jettisoned subterranian river of my crestfallen lament..

12am

All of the times
you tried your best
to break me down
to wear me down enough
to throw in the towel

Everytime that You whispered
to me that I was nothing
I’d never be anything
I would never get anywhere in
my life

When you would send people
into my path to try and make me
stumble and say there is no God
It didn’t work

You tried to hit me with your best shot
well guess what?

YOU HIT LIKE A GIRL

All of the times that I could
have followed you
instead of fighting so hard
to survive you
Guess what

I’m still here
And I’m not done fighting

tremors of new movement

Across the miles of new beginning

challenges in the pavement of ardent desires

the tremors of conflict in the pavement of new question

carving in the discussion for future notion

movement for new leadership

clarity in the addresses for the spirit covered

seen in the news today arriving for new coexistence

consistency seen in the blockade for future reference deepening

Poem # 08

Catch up!

The unexpected message
Which gets you out of the house
And causes you to have your first hug in three months
Followed by long conversation
About family
Gets you behind in your poetry marathon

Catch up!

Reflected

Great dics of bronze

along sandy banks

reflecting the light

for the holy masses.

Let there be light,

but in darkness, in night,

oil lamps, torches,

we’ve always craved light

in deepest dark,

but the disc remained,

bright, small,

yet slowly forgotten reflected light.

longevity of tremors

gathered soul delighted

ensuring life challenges

serenading the spirit to deep

worthy causes seen in the marveling seen

polarity of known nomenclatures

desire of covered spirit endangered ideology

clashing at times covering the hype delighted

tripping in the human spirit coverage

distant corners of  known quarantine

freeing the spirit to revitalize

shipping out the desire of human flesh

ardent movement seen in haven ward cornerstone

life often surprises anew
