Calling

I feel it drumming in my bones,

ice water pulsing deep,

I need to go there,

the place of ice and snow,

deep hot springs,

drums, pulsing, pounding,

deep forests and woodsmoke.

And I crave for the life of old,

my people now gone,

I miss my need for home

in a place long dead and gone.

A calling, for what’s long dead,

what’s been dust and story

lingering ghosts in my blood still.

Container (Hour 11)

A celestial city, collonades of salt reaching into the clouds
Silent caverns of the deep dark, where only a heartbeat is heard in the ears
Through the doorway at the bottom of the waterfall’s pool,
And across the heavy mists of the North Sea.

Beyond the ingested ruins of the jungle palace,
Atop the lone mountain temple staring to the East,
In the volcanic minefield, a slithering nest of dragons
Beneath the grey ash spore snows of Venus.

A place within a place, a realm, an agreement of the mind
To contain what dwells within, that it might be allowed to come out
The presence of others, at that second level of knowing,
That mythic ocean behind our conceptual psychology.

Within you, Within me.

Who am I?

Who am I?
I am just a speckle of dust,
Waiting for the wind to carry me back,
Into the land of invisibility and ambiguity.
Where no one knows me,
Where I know no one,
Where I wouldn’t have to fear anyone,
Where I would just be a drop of oblivion in the ocean of Neptune,
Where I would be blessed with peace,
And weaved into Nature without any discrimination.

Poetry Marathon Submission #11

Starscapes

Background on Mars is black.
Stars bound. Gas sings in sibilant color;
Red, yellow, blue, green, purple, orange.
A heaven worth of Skittle's.
Heaven born rainbows, freed from Earth.
Vast and breath catching,
frozen in the shade,
the universe encapsulates the planets.
Comets sling off meteoric tails,
Sending the burning to their death,
Or tailing them along in the distance.
Clouds, quarks, crystals, suns,
X-rays and the decay of atomic
Nuclei, penetrating gamma rays,
Alph waves and beta waves,
Cosmic Rays to destroy,
electromagnetic radiation
must be protected again.
Humans cannot stand before it,
in their most base form.
Someone speaking out about the effects
Of Earth's plant and animal life says"
"So far we are alone, just us."
Perhaps on Mars there were some bacteria,
Perhaps RNA and DNA were born in a puddle
that dried under the supervision of rays.
A moving, living system of forces,
That smells like raspberry
and tastes like rum.
I'm told that life is encouraged to live,
here out in the Universe around us.
Containing rays at light speed,
Gravity to move ships, rocket flight,
Shuttles and homes afar,
This is my dream: to live, to see.

Hour 11 – Kanga

Kanga

Of course, I love my own little boy best
A more beautiful child there never was.
But the rest are like my children too
Bouncy Tigger, with a child-like spirit
Pooh, he tries so hard
Piglet, frightened of his own footprints
Eeyore, so miserable and lonely
Each needs a mother’s love
And who put me to give it?
Alas, when adventure draws them all away
I do wish another soul could help me set some limits

We need

to speak up

to stand together

to realize that we are one

and same, no matter what happens

because we are all humans

Tuesday(Prompt 11)

i heard there’d be lush forests,

sunny skies and sunny sun lit skies,

honestly this places still feels like Monday with extra glitter,

how the sky glooms and the stones wet from previous rains,

present is a thick forest filled with poison ivy,

alive

she bites and dies,

the lush forests of Tuesday,

mountains of despair,

lost hope and death fills the humid air,

how you fear for your life before you enter,

lacking is the sign,

Tuesday island home to hades,

because the skeletons of explorers new and old filled the floors of the pathways,

but all adventurers have a sense of danger,

and that lacked in me,

instead i entered Tuesday Island greed filled as the islands volcano erupted gold,

man’s greatest thirst,

needed be quenched,

greed was my demise

Prompt Eleven (11): The Castle [Hour 11]

There’s A Place

The land is green

As far as one can see.

High upon a hill

He stands almost still.

Behind the handsome loving one

Lit by the shining sun …

Is my castle true,

Red brick and lavender blue.

It’s a storybook home,

Safe from any storm.

This place exists in my mind,

And the seasons are kind.

Existing in this heavenly place,

And greeted daily by his loving face.

There’s only joy to behold,

Warmth when it’s cold!

The winds cool our place,

When summer is in place.

It’s my place in this fantasy land,

With him and me,

hand in hand.

#10 The Vessel

Alone at sea,

Not even a star in the sky

Floating without direction,

Just the waves to abide by.

Everything is dark,

Even the compass is broken,

The lonely vessel bobs about,

Empty, abandoned, forsaken.

Maybe it had a glorious past,

Maybe it belonged to royalty,

Or it was a pirate ship,

Striking terror with its notoriety.

But nobody knows for sure,

The vessel’s a long-forgotten story,

It is no longer worthy of memory,

It didn’t deserve a place in history.

Alone at sea,

Not even a star in the sky,

One day it will sink to the bottom,

And no one will care that it died.

Passageway to Nowhere

Of course, each split in the road is a risk

But this is the passageway to nowhere

Left turn, right turn. Best go quick

There’s always a choice, but I promise you

Believe in yourself and every one will be correct

Do not doubt. Do not fret

Let your body go and your mind rest
