Heart and Mind

And, if I ever lose my heart,
I won’t cry
And I won’t start

And, if I ever lose my heart,
Oh, hey, hey,
I won’t have to love no more.

“Did it take long to find me?”
I begged of the Gods of Life.
“Did it take long to find me,
And where are all the minions of strife?”

I’m being followed by a moonshadow,
Moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin’ and hopping on a moonshadow,
Moonshadow, moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow

And, if I ever lose my mind,
I won’t flinch
Or be unkind

Oh, if I ever lose my mind,
Oh hey, hey,
I won’t have hate no more.

**Tribute / Follow-up to “Moonshadow” by Cat Stevens

The Hour

Woke up again,

The time is same,

Many stories about it,

Was that a creak I heard upstairs?

Hello! Is somebody there?

Where is the wind coming from?

All the windows are shut,

Oh God! was it all not a fuss?

Are the legends true?

Is the devil true?

But wait a sec, are those my brother’s shoes?

He is back,

Silly me, let’s go back to sleep,

Anyways its 3 AM here,

But somewhere on the globe its 3PM too,

Time to dream again…

Hour 10 Prompt 10

Child of the Kingdom.

Iam thankful today
For the life without reserves
Plenty of love and care
From your bosom

For the life without reserves
I am quenched of my needs
From your bosom
I delight every single day

I am quenched of my needs
By your saving hand, mighty
Your purpose I will live
I am thankful today

Re: Moon Shadow

While I am being followed by a moon shadow

Moon shadow

Moon shadow

Leaping up on a moon shadow

Moon shadow

Moon shadow

If I lose my legs,

I won’t have to walk no more

If I lose my hands,

I won’t have to work no more

If I lose my eyes,

I won’t have to cry no more

If I lose my mouth

I won’t have to talk no more

I have been followed by a moon shadow

Moon shadow

Moon shadow

It may take long to find me

Are you gonna stay the night

I am being followed by a moon shadow

Simplicity – Hour 10

The world can be so simple
If we stop to take a pause
Only complex as we make it
Without any real just cause
The beauty in a moonbeam
Or shadow of the night
Too often lost beneath the bustle
Of each bright city light

The colors of the sunrise
Or those as nighttime dawns
So oftentimes forgotten
Or hardly looked upon
For we are just too busy
To stop and take a breath
Until we reach a moment
When there are few moments left

How much of life is valued
How much of it is lost
What is really important
And if so, at what cost
The world can be so simple
It is, if lest we try
To seize each passing memory
‘fore it passes us by

Faithful Light: A Brief Prayer

Faithful Light: A Brief Prayer

How do i find The Way?

How do i discover The Truth?

Like a midnight cat following its moonshadow

i ask the Faithful Light, who never fails to stay the night.

#9 Faithless

Believe in something even

When it’s Winter

Spring brings the miracle

Of faith understood

Summer is almost too much

A long pregnancy waiting

For Autumn and the harvest

Yet Winter still brings doubt

Faithless despite yesterdays

Todays and tomorrows returning

Requiring infinite reassurance

We find little peace in the now

Moonshadow Prompt 10

Moonshadow

After Yusef/Cat Stevens

I’m being followed.

Are you being followed, too?

It’s a moonshadow

always following me.

My body is fragile. As time goes by

I may lose the use of its parts.

It’s a moonshadow

always following me.

If that happens, I will also lose connection

with parts of my life. My world will be smaller.

It’s a moonshadow

always following me.

I will use whatever parts remain

accessible to me to fill my life.

It’s a moonshadow

always following me.

Hair 2-Hour 10

Once upon a time

I curled my hair

Curling iron in hand

Curlers pressing against my head

Anything to make the straight go away

Soon I embraced my straightness

I allowed it to be flat and lifeless

I let it grow long

Past the point where it got stuck in car doors

Past the point where I would sit on it and pull my head

I cut it to shoulder length

Then to above my ears

I pinned it, put it in pony tails

Pig tails, braids

Short, long and everything in-between

Until one day

15 days from my first chemo

I found it in clumps

It was shaved that day, then shaved again

I saw my head

I saw the bumps and the scars

I found out I am more than my hair

More than some preconception

Of how a woman should look

I was more than balding

I was more than receding

I was bald

Now as it grows back

Uncontrollable

I still see how I looked before

A warrior without hair

I will never see those strands the same way again

I will brush and style and love my curls

No longer afraid

Of nothing there

My life a before and after shot

Before the cancer and survivor

From flat to bald to curls
