Prompt 10 and Poem 10 “Optimism, Resilience and Dancing with Moonshadows” by Ingrid Exner Half Marathon 2020

When I was young,

I sang of dancing with

moon shadows and,

I did.

Through operations,

I danced and sang to the Lyrics

of Optimism, Resiliency and,

Bouncing Back.

As I grew older, I began to forget

the Meaning behind the Lyrics-

the Message behind the Song.

When greater shadows returned.

The song was sung to me-

And, I remembered who I was and,

Who I AM-

Resilient!

Poem 10 by Ingrid Exner. Half Marathon, 2020

Hour 10, Shadow Child

Two shadow heartbeats
on a grey and white screen
thumped in synchrony with each other
and with my own heart,
a trifecta of burgeoning life
within me.

Sprouting growing limbs,
organs, fingers, and toes
from tiny tadpole bodies,
they danced and squirmed round each other,
my identical, beautiful girls.

Two shadow heartbeats
one day on that screen
de-synchronized, one gone.
Two girl bodies remained,
swayed in the reflected rhythm,
but one unformed soul had fled,
one living girl growing within me
one girl dead.

Weeks later I birthed them both,
identical still to the end,
one live child to rejoice in the light,
one child a shadow forever more.

10 – The Tao Te Ching Five as it pertains to Knowledge

Knowledge is balanced.

It is both good and not so.

Knowledge does not take sides.

It doesn’t need to take a side.

It simply receives facts with no judgement.

Knowledge is like water.

It is still and solitary, yet infinitely capable.

The more it flows, the more powerful it becomes.

The more you talk of having knowledge

the more you realize how much of it

you have not yet attained.

Hold onto its core.

Prompt Ten (10): Shadows of Planets [Hour 10]

IF I LOSE THE PLANET

Losing Earth was harsh;

First we lost the sun…

We had warmth, but did not know from where;

The moon had a shadow, and it did provide light.

Maybe it kept the warmth, or the planet was warmed…

generations ago.

It’s 2120, and one hundred years ago,

my grandfather was born into a virus;

he never got it …

neither did his parents.

They were lucky, safe.

Resilient, perhaps?

He told me, for years…

How Earth had light …

And light had no sound.

His parents were deaf,

so they also had no sound.

He taught me to hear inside;

as he was taught by them.

We will travel out, if we have to…

I wonder if the sun still exists?

Somewhere, it must.

For I know, if it is remembered;

it still is.

And I still feel it.

I was born the day before

the Moon Shadow phase.

I remember the Sun.

I feel I heard it.

It had a sound for me.

Not anymore.

Moonshadow song – an inspiration

Some days I still long
for the big brown chair,
my parents used to own.
It was round, ribbed,
yellow mustard corduroy.
I’d spin one way, then the other,
pause, eleven, listening
to Cat Stevens sing.
Losing everything,
hands, eyes, legs, mouth,
sounded like nothing to fear
under a benevolent,
faithful light the way
he sang it.
Moonshadows
connect my life
like a thread
chaining each and every moment.
Once a full moon followed me
over snowy Nottingham roads,
trees limbs encased in inches of ice
while that song played
and I knew I might slip
or slide, but I’d be alright.
I long for that old
brown chair still.
I want to curl up
and unspin
this crazy world
I’ve grown up in
and listen to every song
on that album.

Poem #10: The Fun of Sharing Joy Riding … Together

I’m being followed by a moon shadow;
Moon shadow, moon shadow.
I may lose my eyes, my legs, my voice, but I won’t ever lose my imagination.
I close my eyes and see myself…
Leaping and hopping on a moon shadow
Above the clouds
Above the fray
Going just as high as I may.
Best of all, I’m not alone.
I’m with you, mi amor.
We’re leaping and hopping on our moon shadow.
Shared joy. Shared fun. Shared adventure.
Never lose that. Never.

9:00 a. m Migraine

She let her sink in imagination and thinking

of fairy land deserved for ones bravely breathing,

as a result in her fourteen year old

she got inclined to migraine attacks hard and bold.

“What ? A headache? You aren’t sick, common keep cleaning ”

“Mum, I need a piece of sleep now in its beginning ”

Migraine -unexpected seizure of normal way of life,

striking with a hammer, migrating from part to part in a strife.

H.10 – Freedom

I wander the stars, in a boat made of

sky, following dreams in a lullaby.

I carry the moon, the sun and earth

in my coat pockets, trinkets of mirth.

They grumble and moan and dance in

the swoth  tickling me gently as they

wish to be free to roam the sky just

like me.

So l let them play among the stars

and now we play chase  with an ethereal

glee.

For freedom gave me friends and more fun than before, we have all grown smiles to big to ignore.

Hour 10, prompt 10 Moon’s Shadow

The boogeyman hides in the moon’s shadow,
unlit doorways,
and under beds never checked.

He steals changelings and replaces them with
demons.
They feast on children’s rotten teeth
and then get high
on your bad decisions.

The boogeyman walks the world by many names and in many shapes.

He remembers you, he may have even love you, but
he’s only ever wanted to kill you, and make love to you,
in the moon’s shadow.
