24hr Marathon

Thank you for having me, from Va. I am an Author, Poet and Blogtalk radio host. I am excited to be in the moment for 24hrs of writing.

some random thoughts…

I have been asked of the use of such

Words that delight me much

I have been questioned of reason

Why! Blamed of treason

I have been inquired of my choices

Ah! Those prudent voices

Let them know, come adversity

Let all know, bring peace to calamity

My words are mine to keep, to chose

Demand all you may, I have none to lose

Countdown to Self Induced Insomnia…

I’ve done it before. Stayed up 24 hours, that is. Even longer, although that’s been a few years. But this time, in addition to a circadian round of awareness, I’ll be composing poetry, or lyrics, in my case. I have a list of other activities to keep me awake between the hourly rounds of posting, as well as all the required nutritional needs. And a really loud alarm.

We’ll see…

Hello!

My name is Meg and this is my first poetry marathon! I’m from Geelong Vic Australia

I’m looking forward to the challenge of producing a number of poems in a relatively short period of time.

Also I’m a relative newbie to the writing scene. I’ve been writing poetry since my early teenage years mainly as an avenue of self expression and reflection of the many stages in my life. As I’ve become older I have definately enjoyed inspirational writing.

I have oodles amount of notebooks with poetry and other writing and decided recently to compile them all into an ebook. I’m hoping this marathon will assist me in developing a discipline to write regularly instead of spasmodically as it has always been.

How I’ve been preparing for this challenge is firstly clearing my schedule. I’m a dedicated runner so the run will be early morning and out of the way before the 9am start.

I’ve been noting ideas in a notebook for several poems as a prompt so if I do run out of ideas I have some prepared. Also looking at sleep breaks if required and setting alarms so that I’m awake to post each hour.

I’m looking forward to connecting with other writers and joining the community as having support and a common goal is positive and assists every one

Ready…set…GO!

My name is Michellia and I live in northwest Tennessee.  I am 48 years old and I have been writing poetry since I was 12. I have been divorced several years and my grown daughter is married with two small children.

I have had some things published, but nothing major.  I have been a little shy in sharing.

I am a CompTIA A+ Certified computer technician and only need 3 classes to complete my master’s degree.

My intro

Hi I’m Donna and I’m very excited to be part of this.  What a great incitement to write more!! I’ve been writing poetry since age 11—free verse, quatrains, usually sonnets. I’m also a visual artist and an actor. Art of so many forms. I look forward to sharing my work (half marathon) and reading others’.

First poetry marathon

Hello fellow poets 🙂

I am excited to be involved in this marathon (or half-marathon) and will be preparing my writing area today.

Preparation involves lots of food, coffee, paper, a bin, and a great deal of trepidation.

I am currently a very mature aged student where writing poetry is seen as some sort of torture that only those with madness ingrained would like. I love writing poetry, be it rhyming, free form, whatever calls to me at the time.

I am definitely looking forward to the adventure and reading others poetry. What a glorious way to spend a Saturday!

Good luck to everyone involved, enjoy the process; onward and upward we write!

Cheers

S.
