fresh fading sun rays
ribboning the sky; moonrise
peeking o’er the hill
starshine restlessly
waits nightfall’s velvet veil; ah!
What stirs my soul’s joy?
And a lover you shall take
Warm lips and a soft waist,
you wait for me.
My emotions a kaleidoscope.
Your blonde hair fans out
over the grey silk pillow.
Your smile is a candle,
your anger a cactus.
You curl and curve and call,
and what am I before that?
I am happy in your orbit,
fingers laced together,
eye to eye, green to brown.
None of us are who we used to be.
Hour 22 : Thinking of You
Such tenderness in your touch
As a dove can have
Sheltering under her warm wings
Tenderness came to you with time
Love is all everyone needs
Feeling less all alone
Tenderness in the melancholy
Knowing once you cared
We built memories together
Tenderness in those moments
Do you recall the intimacy?
Or it has become all a past?
Tenderness in the passionate warmth
When we entwined
Those feelings don’t wash away
Tenderness in those memories
Which I will preserve
As proof that you did once care.

Night envelops her dark blanket
and sprinkles tenderness
on the sleeping world
casting an invisible spell
and takes away the tiredness

I Need an Idea -Hour 22
I need an idea
to reach out and grab me
Shake me awake
Pull me out of dreamland
Bring me back to the almost alive
An idea to pull me back from the precipice
I need an idea
Something to fly with, drive with
Or at the very least cry with
An idea I can sink my teeth into
Throw in some words,
some sentence structure,
and mix them all up.
Just one small idea
Something, anything at all.
Toss me a word, a generality
A token or a snippet maybe
Just not the word “tenderness”
That won’t do it
I need something less soft and
more word worthy.
