Bench Post 7

That is you and I

sitting on a bench

overlooking the ocean

and our lives.

We are growing old together

We know each other’s health struggles

We have matched strides and rhythms

Danced around each other’s shortcomings.

We have gazed at the moon

with love in our eyes

One day when walking is too much

Our heads bent towards each other

We shall sit on such a bench

Looking out onto the ocean

lost in our memories.

A million moments

Reflections of love.

DogSpeak #6 You and Me and He/She

DogSpeak #6 You and Me and He/She

I’m lonely when you’re not home
and I know you need to go to work
to make bone money, yeah money
to buy bones, but it’s so quiet when
you’re not here.

Can you get me a brother or a sister,
a he or she? I won’t love you any less,
won’t play favorites between you and
him/her, will always have kisses
for you,

but I need someone to romp with,
maybe a puppy to show the ropes to,
teach him/her to follow the rules,
outside to do business before play,
not to bark at the mailman because
he’s our friend, though I don’t know
why. He’s never brought me anything.

But I digress. I’ll teach little newbie
how to sit and stay, but no begging
because we don’t beg here. Dinner
is always yummy, eat it all and then
you get a treat. No hogging the bed,
your pillow is off limits, and never
ever under any duress, take your shoes
or slippers or stinky socks.

What do you say? Can I share you,
can you share me, and make room
for number three?

Hour 7: The Parliament of the Crows

the crows debate
in their parliament
the taste of bread crumbs
and the old man who throws it
he’s throwing more crumbs to the fish
they need to change directions

the crows discuss
the white cat with the brown ear
and green eyes out to get them
who will bell the cat and save the crows?
anonymous votes are cast, decision to be taken in the next session

the crows decide
to uphold the divine duty
to announce guests in different houses

matters of the day done, parliament dismissed,
they fly with loud and friendly calls
black blurs on branches
sending orderly homes into chaos
with grandmothers exclaiming
about guests arriving

7th hr image prompt: Till Death

Nothing will depart us

We’re connected by hearts.

The knot of love

Till death— the rhythm of earth.

They love each other so much

They promise to lead life

Here or there not a matter

Till death— the tune of heart.

They are sitting on the bench

They are recalling lovely past.

All are reflected one by one

Till death— fragrance of love.

My Daily Prayer

My daily prayer

a prayer for love

a prayer for joy

a prayer for peace

a prayer for happiness

a prayer for all mankind

a bountiful blessing that will never end.

I pray for my family

I pray for my children

I pray for the children of others

I pray for my neighbors

I pray for my friends

I pray for those that I may never know.

Yet I know they all need my prayers.

I pray for the sick

I pray for the wounded in spirit

I pray for the heart that has been broken

I pray for those without hope

I pray for those who are shattered by grief

unable to face the disappointments that life can bring.

Somehow I know these prayers will bring comfort and peace.

I pray for our government

I pray for war to end

I pray for understanding to increase

I pray for misunderstanding to decrease

I pray for tolerance

a prayer that we will not destroy ourselves

with our own greed, selfishness and narrowness of mind

Yet I know all these things can only come from heaven above.

how marvelous it would be

if we all prayed in real unity.

caring for the needs of our brother

striking the chord of true love for one another.

No more war and no more pain

everybody on the same frequency

the frequency that will lead to world love and harmony.

Prompt 7: Standing Guard

There she sits, on her throne-like seat,

Where the Delaware Bay and Atlantic meet,

And guards The Point as the ships sail on,

From far-flung places, to the Cape May dawn.

Poem 7 Hour 7

His black face is relaxed.

His long body taking up almost the whole ottoman.

His soft snores make me smile.

His fur is growing back after his last hair cut.

A sleeping cat is a happy cat.

Almost 11 years old, he still plays and cuddles.

He makes my day everyday.

Image Prompt – Poem 7 Love Bench

Love bench

What a lovely summer evening
We took our usual walk up the hill round the pub
At the corner
The roundabout around on the way to the farm
The park bench awaits us each time we walk past
On this evening our 10th Anniversary
We chose to have a quiet celebration
Off we went to the Lake District our favourite spot
The bench on the lake close to the reception
The lovely couple cannot be forgotten
As they remind me of Romeo and Juliet
He could not take his eyes off of her
He could not stop cuddling her he was in love with his Queen
I look forward to this moment
To spend one on one with the man I fell in love with
But no longer the same forever
The Love bench cannot last forever
He used to be my Romeo
