Hour 3 – Sanctuary

sunlight sparkles in dust motes
sent swirling by a stray wingflap
ancient stone floors tap-tap-tap
mutedly under layers of moss and leaf

the wooden pews have rotted soft
chipmunks and robins their only visitors
light enough to rest on the weakened benches
and have no comprehension of religion

ivies and wildflowers peek around walls
cautiously sneaking over the floor
exploring their discovered ruins
with all the time in the world

a pulpit, an altar stand still
keeping stewarding watch
over the greening sanctuary
and the mice that nest there

all this splayed beneath a bright rainbow glow
casting golden amber, ruby, sapphire, emerald
between the shadows of swaying branches
from the crumbling stained-glass window

Song Prompt – Poem 3 Mr and Mrs Cello

Mr and Mrs Cello
Natural and calming
Soothing and unifying
Bonding to love
Solemn takes me on a journey
Upbeat and easy to listen to
Enjoying the tune is catchy
Beautiful music adorable tune
Violin awesome threading
My head swaying from side to side
My heart beaming with joy
Smiles on my face as it takes me home
It’s upbeat I write to this journey
Of amazement and thrill
And then I am laid down to an
Unending finish which is half way
I am not ready to let this go
I play this a third time as I am thrilled
I enjoy it so much
Made me want to find out what instrument was being played
Connecting by music in harmony

Chello

As you played the Chello

My heart said hello

At first you made me cry

I thought I was going to die

And then you picked me up and I could fly

I did not realize I could be so high

And as you played the Chello

My heart said hello

1 Deciding on green

1     Deciding on green

Grateful for green

Outside a spring window

Evolving and becoming

Too many colors to count

Soon heat will fade

These infinite shades

To become a suggestion

Of autumn’s palate

A wise choice green

Soothing hopeful free

Though disappearing

Behind fuels and fumes

Most realizing now

Green is essential

And the ironic truth

Tis the color of money

Stars

I knew the moment we met that the stars were alive within your eyes.
The constellations bloomed across your very skin.
I’m dazed from drinking you in.
I watch your delicate lips move, the color of dogwood leaves in the fall.
I watch you lose yourself under the glow of a mirrorball.
My soul calls out to you.
There is a garden planted in my heart by you…
And there is nothing I can do
I’m in love with you.
Help me find something real in this city of stars.
Let me hear the start again of this story of ours.
You smooth my ugly scars with your fingertips kiss.
Until the day I die only you could be the one I miss.
You and I are intricately entwined always until the very end of time.

Hour 3 (Objection Overruled)

Give me a chance to put in my objection
No matter how you feeling blue
Give me a chance to put in my objection
I may not be familiar with your language
I sure do can say I love you
I am gonna love you in the morning
I am gonna love you in the evening
So no objection overruled
Cause I love you
Listen I love you!

Color Blind To You-Nonet-Hour 3

Color Blind to You

Purple grass waves in the gentle breeze

Violet leaves live on the tall tree

White laced ivy inter-twines

Dark blue skies are devine

Puffy clouds float by

This field of rye

Why can’t I

See you

Here

When (3rd Poem)

We were so happy then
When
When
When
You held me on rainy days
Captive in the water for what seemed like hours
Only mere seconds until we drifted to shelter
Umbrella or indoor weather
Where we’d occupy the rest of the day

Those days are with our youth
Our happiness too
When when when you held me on rainy days

Technicolor Hills – hour THREE

Technicolor hills

burst into flamingo pink flames and

pierce a cerelean sky

bloodless and leathery

like my arms reaching up

from this 1950s nightmare of hues

finding you cool and updated.

in 70s avocado and mauve.

“Toned down,” you tell me. But

I see the flicker of something more.

Something incendiary,

sleeping till one day when the

alarm clatters and

you’ll turn your morning the color of

finches; your sky —

jet blue and cloudless.
