Hello

I’m Melinda. Hello from the USA!

This is my first poetry marathon. I don’t normally write a poem a day—much less one every hour—and I don’t normally write on demand, so this will be an interesting adventure. I’m excited for the challenges of the marathon, including learning to navigate and post in WordPress. Tips and suggestions are welcome!

I write mostly positive, light poetry. I like to stretch myself by trying new styles and approaches. My current WIP is a collection of poetry for children.

I look forward to meeting other marathoners and reading their poetry. Good luck to all!

Firster

Denise Hill – first-timer. I’m Editor in Chief of NewPages.com and a full-time college faculty and English Division Chair. I read lots of other people’s writing and rarely take time to write outside of work. This is my time. Hooyah!

Introduction

Hello,

I am Sue Storts. I am a  woman who just needs to write stuff.

Running is an activity that feels awkward and foreign to me, so running a half marathon would be impossible. Thinking and typing a half marathon is an activity I might be able to complete.  We’ll see.

Looking Forward to Meeting New Friends and Reading Great Poetry!

I’m Virginia Galfo. When I was about 10 years old, I was given a paperback book of poems called On City Streets. I was smitten with the various poems and poets then, and I still am, today. I’m so happy to be here among my fellow writers and look forward to participating in the Poetry Marathon.

I have a blog: A Light Beyond the Hedge: Poetry and Somewhat Social Commentary (www.virginiagalfo.com). My music is marketed under the name Virginia Wagner and can be found at cdbaby.com/artist/virginiawagner (you can stream it for free on Spotify). Oh, I also wrote a novel. It’s called The Eclipse of Mrs. Moon and it’s available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Im a poet-to-be

Hi. You can call me Thariyah Shah (my pen name) and I’m from Malaysia. Im nothing but a beginner in the writing world. I hope i am among those whom are able to deliver emotions, knowledge and stories through my writing.

Narinder

Hi fellow marathoners.

I am Narinder . I am from India. A mother . I say that first bcz nothing fulfills me more. A writer.  This is a recent discovery and discovery has made my life so much more well rounded. My pen ,my diaries ,my gadgets …its a whole parallel life.

By profession i am also a soft skills trainer and public speaker.

I have published a poetry book of a 100 poems TOSKA available on amazon. The publication of this book is a dream come true. A dream i had not even dared to dream

This marathon seemed like a very interesting concept. I am sure i will be able to conjure 24 pieces out of my collection.  I guess the challenge lies in remaining awake throughout to complete the collection.

All the best to us

Had some issues getting to this post, and am still very new to wordpress. Any help and tips are most welcome.

I’ve been writing poetry for more than three decades.  I’ve pulled many all nighters while the words flow.

Looking forward to this challenge, and getting to know you all through your words

Introduction.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mateo Lara. I am thrilled to be a part of this again. I have found myself in a chaotic swirl this past year and look forward to expressing everything once again. I have definitely prepared since last year. I have a poetry book coming out later this year, entitled: Keta-Miha and Other Poems, so I will definitely be writing words inspired from that. I am from California. I attend college and I am definitely a mess and still trying to experience and get a grip on this machination we call life. I look forward to going on this journey with you all. See what everyone shares. Poetry is definitely a bleeding of the soul. I am happy to bleed with all of you, as macabre as it sounds.

You can find me on facebook, my poetry page is https://www.facebook.com/asperludwig

as well as on tumblr. under the same thing, asperludwigpoetry.tumblr.com

Hello from Houston, Texas!

My name is Daniel.  I am first time marathon participant.  I have rarely written poetry; and do not consider myself an avid reader of poetry.  I am joining this marathon to expose myself to something new; to challenge myself; to feed my need to create; to meet new people; and to share in this communal experience.

I am a folk art enthusiast, a collector of creches, an appreciator of early music, a baker, a believer, and a creative.

Solving problems is something I love to do in addition to innovate, develop systems, design things, write, think, and strategize.

Seeing the future as a fixed destination is something I do not do.  Instead, I see it as a place I create out of the choices I make right now.  I live in the moment.  This does not mean that I do not have a plan or plans.  I do.

I am drawn towards people to help them experience success.  Each individual is a work in progress and their potential is all I see.  I am fueled by the sign of growth in others.  This brings me strength and satisfaction.  I hope others can realize that my helpfulness is both genuine and fulfilling to me.

Time alone for musing and reflection is very important to me.  I like to think.  I like mental activity.  I am introspective. A mental hum is one of the constants of my life.

I derive a great pleasure and strength from being around close friends.  I am comfortable with intimacy.  I deliberately encourage a deepening of relationships, accepting the risk that this certain kind of closeness implies.

These themes: adaptability, development, intellect, and relator will help prepare me for the marathon.

Thank you for reading,

Daniel
