(Hour 20) 17.30pm-18.30pm. PROMPT: light

nothing rhymes with O

i’m so over orange —
the glow of endless sunset
cat’s eyes — burning retinas
scorching — red hot coals
that can’t be doused
worse still, nothing rhymes with it

except for one Welsh mountain
& a technical word for
single-or many-celled structures
in which spores are produced
especially : fungi, algae, mosses, & ferns.
neither of which find their way easily into a poem

Tu me manques (You are missing from me)

Prompt 21 : Poem for what I’m longing for most right now

“I miss you” does not suffice

Madam English falls far short

so to convey my pain’s depth

to Mademoiselle French I resort

We’ve been apart for months now

memories are all that sustain

You are embedded in my soul

my most beloved refrain

So here’s to our reunion

whenever that may be

Tu me manques, Dear Travel,

You are missing from me

Sweetness.

Lullaby sing so sweet.

Stop crying and just meet.

I know you wanna eat.

You are so sweet.

If the only thing you wanna do is meet.

So just eat.

Poem 21 longing

I’m longing for quiet
after a long day
there is no way to escape
and its too much noise here

Everyone needs something from me
Everyone wants something from me
Little People have the most demands

Demands that help me forget of the office party
Demands that helped me forget that appointment
that phone call
that paperwork

I’m often just running on empty
with a cup of crazy dripping along the side

I long for silence here

Myriam Fallow was really hollow.

She lived in the town of Creeky Shallow.

Her wisest thought was not as deep

as the dried up river, one inch deep.

Her mother sent her to the store

to buy a present for her sister who snored.

She said to herself, “Oh, what shall I buy?”

Then she turned around to Aisle 5.

Aisle 5 was forbidden, this she well knew…

She fought off the impulse as curiousity grew.

She turned instead and walked right by…

…but stopped when something caught her eye.

She was in a trance, down the aisle walked she…

…until she saw The Thing, and then balked She.

“I can’t…” said Myriam, “You’re not a good present.”

“Who cares?” said The Thing,“Your sister can scream. I’ll give her a scare, because YOU wouldn’t DARE!”

This last line he shouted

as Myriam doubted.

(It would be so funny~

To scare her sister Honey…)

Now, Myriam walked out the door that day.

She started home without delay.

Some saw a Shadow walking behind her.

~and to this very day, no one can find her…

Breaking Barriers

Barriers are limitations
To progress envisioned
Breaking such limits
Will inspire the required change
I am a firm believer of positive impact
Against the odds
Change is inevitable
Because limitation
Is only in the mind
As a skyward bound gladiator
Challenging stereotypes is my forte
Outstretching my yesterday is a normal
My biggest Challenger is me
Outshining my yesterday is a mission…
As I outrun every limitation to claim the medal of self mastery in a sphere of corporate politics

And eye service…

Grilled Cheese – Hour 21, Prompt 21

There it is, the silver plate
A single smaller one atop,
and on it that heavenly meal.
A crisped golden brown, the smell
of hot cheese, full of might and power.
Yet I cannot grasp it, it lies within my dreams…

Grilled cheese~ You are what I need…Grilled Cheese~
Why won’t you come to me…

It’s quick to cook, it smells
like heaven, a dish from
the gods of dairy and grain,
So wonderful, yet difficult,
I cannot attain my grilled
honey wheat bread with
cheese, it’s just out of reach
missing a key ingredient…

Grilled cheese~ You are what I need…Grilled Cheese~
Why won’t you come to me…

I could make it right now,
I could grab the bread, slice the bread
Melt the butter at a medium heat
Put the cheese on the bread
Place it on the pan and flip it,
But I’m so very tired…

Grilled cheese~ You are what I need…Grilled Cheese~
Why won’t you come to me…

Little Light

Glowing bright through the night.

Not near or far like a beacon.

You can see the outline from the light.

All because it has begun.

The time before timelessness

Prompt 21 (Half Marathon 2 Hour 9)

I cannot remember what day it is anymore.
In this timeless existence we have led of late
Days blend into months and years, and maybe more
Work and home, home and work, I can no longer differentiate

Wake up. Lemon water. Yoga. Exercise. Shower. Walk
In this new state, my morning routine does not exist
With my office at my fingertips, there is no stop
The late night emails I cannot resist

Home. What was once a source of respite
Now seems like a benign prison
As my worlds disturbingly collide
In this existence, beyond time, beyond reason

6:00 p.m The eldest sister’s teasing

“You came. So go in. It’s good that no hungering child

you brought to me ” mum’s tone was harsh and wild.

She took an extra duty: to be in time with sisters callings,

who found one day a pretty man some water carrying.

Her sister felt an impulse  of experienced  woman who jumped

out of marriage bed and could spread flirting charm…

not getting aim she got angry and started pinning:

“look at you, don’t be naive, all men’re villains who’re intriguing”
