My Greatest Challenge Yet

I never thought I could do this.

But here I am, 18 out of 24.

Started off with nothing but a slice of cake

And a cup of coffee.

The prompts came in so fast,

And I thought it would be impossible to go half way.

The night was long,

Albeit, quiet.

Crashing between time zones,

Waking up to the sound of James Fortune’s

Never Again.

Thank God for the great battery life my phone

Was endowed with, &

The terrible eye sight that visit me

In the dark.

Here I am, heading to church to finish

What I started.

20~3

He likes to watch.

(he told me)

Shine on him distracts me.

Still, I am, In Charge.

Smooth skin.

Ladylike.

Tongues kissing tongues

And hands on flesh…

Beneath me,

Cunning lips purr…

(I like to watch, he told me)

His mind’s eye to mine.

Breath escapes me

As I find my self

Through his eyes.

Inside him, I wander…

I show him what he cannot see.

I paint for him softness of three…

(I like to watch, he told me)

Sweet rhythm I desire.

Her back arches beside his cheek

I make her feel him swell…

Two hands on her, then four, then more~

His brain begins to burn.

Sweet pink unfolds before him.

I teach him to taste color…

I like to watch, he told me.

(I think I am on Fire)

Easter 2020

With churches closed and no one to visit,

We zoomed my entire family, many for the first time

It was wonderful to see everyone.

To connect.

We also ate candy and cooked a ham.

Hour 18: The Christmas Angel

The Christmas Angel

Quite a few years ago, on a bittersweet Christmas day

My family got together, all of us I must say.

Family came from far and near with one thing on our mind

It was most likely going to be my uncles last Christmas

He was running out of time.

The presents were all given, our tummies had been filled

There was one thing left for us to do, our wish would be fulfilled.

We wanted a Christmas picture to commemorate this day.

How would we manage it? Who would take it and be out of the way?

We thought and long we pondered, and then we thought some more.

And as we were all thinking, a knock came at our door.

In complete surprise we answered it, to find a family friend there

They had never come by on Christmas day, but now, an answer to a prayer.

The friends they took the picture, with Christmas blessings went on their way

They were our Christmas Angels, who saved that Christmas Day.

So now we have the picture, a precious memory to later view

For my uncle passed a few weeks later, it was his last Christmas, too.

Prompt 18 Hour 18

On a full moon All Hallows Eve
the forest it did call me
in the center a clearing
a fire so bright
surrounded by sisters
who flew through the night
from near and from far
we gathered to play
around the fire we danced
from dusk till less day
chanting a song of old goddess past
planting our wishes and dreams to last
we are the sisters of night blessed be
otherwise known as witches this eve
under a full moon we dance we wish we dream
and when the sun rises we take coffee with cream

2am

it seems like just last year
you were a little baby
brought into this world
all cute and adorable

I blinked

You started kindergarten
learning colors and ABCs
learning so many things like
reading, math, and sports

I blinked

You went to junior High
still cute and adorable
but with the addition of
an attitude

The whole world was against
you and you were trying to find
your place in this world

I blinked

So how is it that today
you’ve graduated high school
and we stand here celebrating

Where did the time go?

10:00a.m Finishing of school-finishing of friendship

She was the one to feel regret for closing the school’s doors,

the rest of classmates will eagerly run through suffocating school’s walls,

in opposite she searched for pretext to stay longer but in vain,

her friend was among those escaping school as heavy rain.

She noticed her friend swinging to the side of a trivial ranking,

she urged her to the hights of imagination and waiting.

“To wait? What for? I ‘ ll accept  the first proposal I get.

I’ll buy a white dress, new kitchen tools…all- to get married!”.

Hour 18: Trip

In a small car meant for four

we crammed five people and luggage

and onwards we went

Through highways, hills and small forests

on a trip that was long due

We reached the city after a day

maybe two, on the road

backs hurting and head full of bumps

(The road was rough)

But it seemed worth it

when we were welcomed with

a sight of air-conditioned rooms

and good wifi signal.
