11pm

Hey Daddy;

It’s me again. I know it’s
tedious hearing from me
over and over again-
I just can’t seem to stop
reaching out to you

I was thinking about
you today-
I received a wheat penny
at the store today and I
almost broke down

I didn’t though
and I know I’m going to be
alright. That I’m not ready
to see you again just yet

That’s ok though- As much as
I miss you-
There’s so much I am doing these
Days

I’m making friends
I have a job I really like
I have family around me
I am living on my own in my
own place
And I like it.

I don’t have much time right now
to tell you everything that has
been going on because there is
just so much and so many things
going on with me I can’t seem
to narrow it down.

But I’m ok Daddy
I can let you go now
and I can and will survive
without you here on earth

That’s not to say I don’t miss
you daddy, because I do every
single day. But I’m strong now
and I will be ok.

I love you Dad, so much

Love me.

9pm – thirteen – no title

the warm, steamy air
hangs close to the
foliage as we
walk through the woods,
flowers and leaves
glisten in the sun
peeks through the
tree branches, making
a pattern on the
forest floor
rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks
peek out from their
dens to see as we
walk hand in hand
down the path to the creek
there’s a waterfall splashing
the rocks as we
wade in to our knee
flipping water on each other
as we enjoy
our time together…

Prompt 15 Hour 15

Holiday Trip.

Aboard I was excited
My first time on air
Favorite book packed
To keep anxiety away
And invite calmness

With friends,for holidays
Several aisle seats
Mine near the windows
For a glimpse of the clouds
With the plane in motion

Snacks and drinks
To munch on the wait
To our varying destinations
While the hostess swiftly walked
Around, comforting a shy kids

Aboard, I was happy
Of the nice services
From the terminals
As I went on with friends
To a blissful adventure

Almond Delight

24 Poems: “The Dinner Party”

Almond Delight

The highlight might be Marcona

That almond so buttery

Reminiscent of a bakery

As I begin to receive buttery

The flavor of Chorizo

after its apple cider bath

and a fine selection of greens

pure from their cold-water spaying bath

The Manchego cheese

Of herringbone rind

induced by a woven mold of grass

the praise, a layer for my thin rind

The audience seems to be hearty

In filling their bowls

Flexing their appetite muscles

And continuing the laughter in bowls

That tangy red onion

A flash of enticing hue

With enticing Tempranillo

The faces a pinkish hue

Choices

Half asleep

You get up from your desk

Strewn with half eaten snacks

And half finished poems

Going out to the balcony

You look around desperately

For inspiration, an idea, anything

When you see it

A road leading to another road

The kids walking on it

You realise it’s just like life

Choices leading to other choices

And you have no choice but to keep moving forward.

Writhing on Rob

I was 16,

We were coming home from Germany.

Six weeks of milk from the cow on the corner,

Basketball with cute boys,

And a Holocaust camp.

It was a long plane ride home.

I sat on my best friend’s lap,

And writhed on him,

For 10 delightful minutes.

It was the wrong thing to do.

The man next to us must have known.

No one said a word.

When we got home, I dated his best friend.

For three years.

It was our first relationship.

The last time he saw me, I was all grown up and he left me waiting in a car outside his house.

It was freezing. Snow was on the ground.

He had a girlfriend. She wasn’t home but would be jealous.

I let myself in and stuffed my used nylons in the bathroom waste basket.

Hour 15, Prompt 15

Takeoff, Return

I prided myself on not crying at goodbyes.

One last hug, one last kiss, a voice,

then the stairs to check out, a glance back, down,

and you running, long-legged, keeping pace.

How I wanted to run back.

That smile, warm, bright, left me aching,

but no tears, not until I was about to fly,

and the snap. A picture, of your empty

passenger seat, after a whirlwind week.

‘Missing my copilot, x’

And the tears unthawed, fell,

and even the dull roar of engines

was nothing to the need to run back,

land steel wings and come back home.

Hold on honey, wait for me.

The wind will rise, it will turn,

and I’ll come back, to run with you,

my pilot, my captain. My love.

There are three stages in this journey that I have been on!

The stages are set for a new paradigm
Time to release old ways that no longer serve our purpose that is most high
Three eyes seek clarity through the haze
New adventures await us in these dynamic days
We are on a jjoyous ourney into a new age
There will be many signs to be read as we turn the page
We have been too concerned with I instead of us
We must move fearlessly forward and in our destiny trust
This is a transition that will take us out of our comfort zones
But if some fledglings weren’t pushed from the nest they would have never flown

Hour 15- Trains, Planes, Buses and a Big Ship

We took a cab

To a plane

We flew across the ocean

We took a bus

To a Hotel

We ordered pizza in

Too tired to go out

We took a bus to meet a train

The train rich, luxurious

Through the mountains

Landscape high and wild on all sides

At the end of the tunnel

We met a ship,

Tall, glistening

We waited to board her

In a long line

Excited

She was luxurious

As Royal as her name

Tall staircases, gold and glass

Rich carpeted hallways

Fine dining, rich desserts

We watched Alaska from our balcony

There would be a small bi-plane

To show us glaciers

Buses, always buses

Another train, not roomy and luxurious

But enjoyable

Back to the ship

Luxury

Balloon drops

and dancing

Family Dinners and photos

Over too soon

We ended in Vancouver

A bus, a gondola

Waterfalls and a copper mine

Our plane home was gone

No one had told us

I spent dinner on the phone

Our TA found us another one

Small, crowded, a budget airliner

But it got us home

Back over the ocean

To our tiny Maui

Our measily jobs

Our messy apartment

Our traumatized cat

I can’t wait to do it again
