The answer to my prayers this gift it is
A head full of pudding
The buds they’re not budding
Good night is all that remains to say
it is…
Thought it as a curse,
Being able to feel so deeply,
Able to get in someone else’s shoes,
To feel the pain like they do,
Oh these emotions,
Making me mad,
Am I fragile,
Should be handled with care?
Then one day it shattered,
The cage I made,
Boom!
All gone,
The only thing stood ,
Unharmed,
Me,
I knew it was a gift not pain…

the gift
we are all born with a gift,
my Elders teach.
no one else has a gift like ours,
so we are told to share it with all –
“deserving” or not.
the stories teach us that our gifts are also medicine:
yours heals me and mine heals you –
working together as we reach to heal each other
as we heal ourselves,
so we can heal our Mother;
each connected,
one to the other,
until we become one.

The missing glasses case,
The misplaced key.
The quarter just in hand,
It disappeared at one, then two, then three.
The new coffee cup sprung off the shelf and smashed,
A birthday gift, suddenly found in a buried stash.
The menacing troll, I won’t give a name,
Each night at twelve, its always the same.
Its funny, its clever, to everyone but me,
I wish he would go, disappear or flee.
The trap is set,
Time to boogie little man and jet.
He knows better, of course, and slips away,
See you again tomorrow, for more unwelcomed horseplay.
Post 23, Hour 23
Quiet, snobbish one heck of a guy
Thinks deeply writes soulfully
Sits by himself smiles barely
Lives calmly never asks why
Sleeps all day under the moon
After a whole day writing poems
Or sometimes stays up all night long
To write some songs he keeps for long.
Well, hello there Miss,
Allow me to introduce myself,
I am my master’s Hyde, the devil on her shoulder,
Basically, the fun one in the relationship.
You seem shocked,
she does play the goody-two-shoes part well,
I’ll give her that,
Although, it was my idea, you know, social pretenses and all,
We worked well…until now.
You see, she has great potential,
She has a delicious darkness within,
This stuff is of legends, it doesn’t happen often.
I get shivers of excitement when she unleashes her imagination
It is glorious, bloody, tantalizing, shocking,
but she keeps it imprisoned, never makes it real
It’s like having a blockbuster script and no movie.
Did you know they never assigned her an angel?
Nope, it has always just been lonely little me,
But they had a point, why waste resources,
On such a perfect like psychotic sweetie?
She runs from it, from me,
but you can’t hide from the abyss of your soul,
She’ll find her way eventually, I suppose,
but, you know, I do get so bored,
So I mess with her dreams and whisper things in her ear,
What? It is my job, after all,
To give her a little nudge now and then,
to help her embrace her true self,
and unleash upon mankind the horror within.

What is the importance of one strand of hair
one grain of sand
one drop of water
one singular ant
Don’t make this political
it’s critical you understand
that choosing not to take a stand
is part of the problem
It doesn’t affect you personally
you’re just one vote
you’re just one voice
you say it doesn’t make a difference
The difference between us is not
race gender financial
age orientation preference
and it is not an opinion
If everyone decided all at once
their voice doesn’t matter
their vote doesn’t matter
their support doesn’t matter
The world would never change
you cannot count on others
to care any more than you do
it’s your choice to not contribute
This is moral obligation
and you just can’t be bothered
so I won’t bother
with you
I’ll Wait
Keep ringing the doorbell in the rain, I’ll wait
for you to leave before opening to check
if you’re a man I want to let in and grasp
at your shoes, yanking them off in desperation
to rid yourself of rain that seeped past
your socks and clings to your toes, I’ll wait
before my hand shakes and I lean and grasp
at the round, cool handle keeping you out. I’ll let
the rain fall, let it drench your core, let you shiver
as you hover on my stoop and wait.
My mother gave me candy,
I ate it and got sick.
She yelled as if it was my fault.
My mother gave me money,
I spent it and got food
She yelled as if it was my fault.
My mother gave me food
I ate it and didn’t like it.
She called me ungrateful.
So when I have kids how do I raise them?
Should I give them gifts?
I’ll try it, and try to explain
how to properly use my gifts.
I’ll be better.
my feet hit the waves and I know it is home my hands touch the fern and I know I am not alone The moon looks away while I kiss the sky because this gift of innocence is hard to deny I have never wanted or needed much but a tender spot under the clouds to feel the love
