H.24 – Treasure
I find it on the table
A dirty lid, a skeleton
a life caught in a
dark place, lost.
Long past decay,
a perfect specimen
a perfect gift for
a girl, with artist
for a middle name.

I find it on the table
A dirty lid, a skeleton
a life caught in a
dark place, lost.
Long past decay,
a perfect specimen
a perfect gift for
a girl, with artist
for a middle name.
The gift that matters most in life
The gift that holds the keys to your destiny
The gift of peace, is it the gift of joy
The gift of happiness or is it the gift of love
What truly matters is the ultimate gift
One that holds no bars
No favors no grudges no handles
The gift that teaches, guides , protects, heal, brings back all to our remember
Seek for it today it’s available to all
The ultimate gift is what matters most in life

Out of nothing
to take the ethereal and bind it to paper.
to replicate rawness
manifest beauty and tragedy
and to bind in even a miniscule way
a mutual impact shared amongst those who read
is the greatest gift we all possess.
The gift of
Comradery
In this, poetic
Community
With no impunity
Just courage and empathy
My beautiful tribe
My fellow scribes
Raise your pens
(Or your fingers)
And be grateful
We’re done!

its gift to write,
to feel as deeply as we do
this is for the poets,
writing a poem every hour for 24 isn’t a mean feat,
it’s a gift to know emotion,
to push hyperbole past lies and visuals past words,
here we colour,
in colors so surreal they crowd the mind,
dull the bright its been a long day yet you still write,
to the dreamers and the doubter,
you’re unique never doubt yourself,
your work is magnifique
never fail to understand,
we have been blessed with the gift to write,
to see images and listen to stories and create magic from what was just Tom’s pain day,
to be in touch with your emotions,
today has shown me they’ll never be
exhausted.

-Ropa, signing out!
My heart stopped the moment I saw you
And so did the old watch in my hand
Time literally came to a standstill for me
Everything else started to seem bland
I believe we were meant to meet
The fate in work indeed was swift
And now after a decade later
You are still my greatest gift
Treasure Tortoise
My silver-shelled tortoise
Wades through the eternal water
Looking for treasures
While I sit back
Of treasures even gods would envy
The mighty oceans rage unbound
Throwing up all trashes
Half consumed by humans
“This is what we get from the seas, My Lord,” he retorts
The price humans pay for neglecting earth is unbearable
If more and more seas are poisoned
There will be no treasures left in the deep
To revive the purity
“We must keep searching,” I said
Karma will soon catch up

Thank you Poetry Marathon.
In addition to the bragging rights,
I can say I’ve learnt a lot.
This gift is priceless.
Goodbye, till next year.
I have been blessed
Words have been my friends
They have taken me on journeys
Helped me solve my problems
They have served me
Insulted me
Carried me into the clouds
The words are my gifts
I rearrange them and give them back
I call myself writer
My tools are the simplest of all
I have found my place
I have found my story
I have offered myself
To the power of words
Every grateful I heeded the call
Each day when we awaken,
We have been given a gift.
A gift of talent, time, life, and breath
It can give your soul a lift.
Use your gifts wisely
For good and not for bad.
Spread your gifts to others
Make them happy, not sad.
Each gift is something special
Talents are made to share.
Time you need to make the most of
Life and breath, live with flair.
We are only given a certain amount
Of the gifts of which I speak.
Use your own gifts wisely
Using your own special technique.
