Summation of All Things

Don’t you feel it within

That life is coming to its end

Increasing number of murders

And Natural cause deaths

Nature is at its wits-end

The wind doesn’t linger as it did before

It’s rushing because it knows the time is short

The waves move with fury, no need for a calm

The sounds of rushing mighty waters is the voice of the Lord

The sun beams are stronger; the heat index ablaze

The earth destroyed by fiery cascades

Liken to the volcanos erupting after long slumbers

Souls of those in delusion try to tug at heart reins

For the music, sex, fun, disease and pain of this temporary place

Was never designed to last always in this way

A righteous Judge is calling each one to the seat

At the end

Are you found innocent or guilty?

Glad to be Back

Good Morning Fellow Poets:

This is my second year, and this one I hope to complete the full marathon. Last year I did the half, and it was such a rewarding experience.

My name is Pamela Gerber and I blog at inthegazeoftheother.com as well as contribute to several online journals. To earn my keep, I teach  college English at the local college and freelance. I’m also an aspiring poet.

I live with my two nearly full grown daughters, husband, parents and pets in Huntington Beach, California.

Good luck to everyone today!

Peace,

Pam

Biploar mind

Short circuits running through my brain

Waves that crash and come back again

The clay of thought folding in on itself

A place of pain coming off the shelf

Defeat and horror

The taste of blood

Casualties of war

Your memories flood

The screams and tearing of inner walls

And whispers of loss desperately calls

I want to be free of the torment within

I open my eyes…my day begins

Simple Wish

All the things she wished for
All of them came true
But when she wished
For what to wish
What wad the Universe to do

homecoming

Incomparable, unmatched
free from attachments ;

connected by sun and moon
and heart beats of all
that exist

having waited since
beginningless time
no more waiting
now
for blessings and gifts ,
homecoming close;

I am home
no begining no end.

A Distinct Perception

It’s easy, isn’t it?

Taking that bullet was easy for you?

Leaving me behind, out of the blue.

Even if it was to save my life,

To protect our children, you, my wife

Have left the world so much sooner than I

I don’t think that’s enough reason to die.

Was there even a concious thought behind the action?

Did you love me so little for such a reaction?

And sure, they’ll say you loved me dearly.

That you saved me, clearly.

But I’m still alone and he’s still got that gun.

I’ll probably be joining you soon, won’t that be fun?

Your sacrifice was wasted on giving me more life

Even though he already planned to kill you too, my wife.

Tick tock

The morning is still

A cup of hope

Scalding hot resiliency

Chronicles of a Fat Girl

Do you see me

I wonder

can you see the tightly coiled strands of my hair that creates my crown

The roundness of my ass from the remnants of the shape

I USE TO HAVE

or am I invisible

do I walk into rooms through doors that are unseen

or am I unimportant and unattractive

in your dead eyes to bring your attention to me

You don’t see these thunder thighs

or these mesmerizing pretty brown eyes

you can’t see the voluptuousness of my bosom

flowing freely over this belly of goodness

that protects my Austrailia-down under

shit, my pouch is where it’s at

and ha, DONT YOU DARE CALL ME FAT

Hey I just got a lot more of what every woman has to give

divinely distributed from my front to my  back to my sides and my mid

but don’t worry when it’s time to take care of business

I can still drop it like its hot

and make you fall in love

you dig???

Time

The beginning

Another day starts

With the handiwork of God

A calm blue sky

Subtleties of color streaking through the sky

The sun climbing to its place

We go about our day

Filling the 24 hours with necessity

Demands and frivolities

The time passes

Exchanges with coworkers and friends

Moment by moment

Sunset approaches

We are in awe by the beauty

Each day ends

Uniquely beautiful

Another is chalked up as done

Peaceful rest
