You are my screen
You are bright
You are loud
You are pretty
You are mean
You keep me awake
You watch me as I sleep
You follow me through the day
You are the only light at night
You show up in my dreams

I find it hard to believe
I want you to be warm
I want you be seen
I want you to be here
But you are just my screen

Time & Relativity

lie awake in the misty morning

and time is

a fast flowing stream

sounding the alarm

too quickly.

lie awake in the quiet of midnight

and time is

a thick muddy swamp

oozing with danger

and disappointment.

Hour 6: Out

Some days I feel lost

Separated from myself

Like there is a me going about

But not present

Like my soul got locked out

Out of this house I call a body

The day ends and I’m not sure

What happened and where the day went

THE CAB RIDE

THE CAB RIDE

That night in the cab
It was dark and late
I was drunk and drab

End of the night date
left me all alone, a stab
that night in the cab

My heart bled
I felt betrayed, alone
Why had he fled?

My makeup off, hair blown
that night in the cab
I can only bemoan

My fate, my baggage
I drag it behind me, so wrong
Driver became savage

That night in the cab
A beast awakened
He did not caress, but grab

I felt abandoned
me and my mysterious ride
that night in the cab

That night in the cab
I grew up fast
and was left feeling sad

At my back door, past
curfews and sanity
Nightmare memories of the night in the cab…..

In His Hand

As we walked towards the milky sun,

He told me They were One.

I studied Them in CCD,

But I never understood the Holy Trinity.

In His hand, he held a blade of grass.

“What do you see?” He asked;

I gazed at the grass for just a while

Before He told me to look outside;

He stretched His hand across the lawn

And again, asked what I saw.

A single blade in His hand,

Several blades across His land.

One, yet more than one.

He was the Spirit, the Father, and the Son.

One, yet Three.

The Holy Trinity.

Breathe

Eyes open slowly, adjust in the dark.

Pressure.

Shallow breaths, shallow breaths.

Lips purse, I scream.

Sweat pools around the nape of my neck, dripping down my back.

The air is thick inside.

Sunglasses secured into place, it’s bright outside.

Sunny.

Cool air pours in through my window, I take a deep breath.

A scream rings out from my trunk, I turn the music up louder.

A police car drives past, I nod, my hands sweaty.

It’s a beautiful day out.

In the Mockingbird with Katniss

After reading the book I placed it on my side
All at once I drifted to Neverland I stride
Then Katniss Everdeen came calling loud and clear
So I jumped towards her fastly out of fear

We were armed we were ready anytime they show up
We will not allow them to finish us up
We will win in this game we will win in this battle
And our townmates could eat everyone will settle

But husband woke me up for I was making some noise
It’s as if I was shouting and fighting lots of boys
I got mad all at once why he did wake me up
We were in a battle I can’t leave Katniss up

Furious I’m so mad I will return to the field
I will Help Katniss out and we will be revealed
But that scene was so done I cannot go back in
I’s not true that I was with Katniss Everdeen.

Simply Judged

Those who judge us are merely those who see what we show them.

They simply point is out as the black sheep,

Because we don’t follow their rules.

We are  the ones creating this world,

While they simply live in it.

Watch them as they parish…
