Hour 12: Surprise

  1. When Calls the Heart by Janette Oke
  2. “It came as a great surprise to me.” “I had no objections.”
  3. “It came as a great surprise to me.”

Surprise

It came as a great surprise to me

When I saw the flower on the tree.

The tree was normally not one to have

Flowers, what a mystery!

It came as a great surprise to me

When I heard a bird call with glee

From the tree that held the flower, sure

With laughter I began to search some more.

It came as a great surprise to me

When I heard the buzzing of a bee

In the depths of the foliage, loud it cried

I looked even closer and then I spied.

Imagine the great surprise to me

When I spent some time so carefree

Searching the shrub and lo I beheld

A child hiding within, and I yelled!

It came as a great surprise to me

To find the child hidden craftily

He held out a flower, and softly whirred

And then whistled like a bird.

8pm – twelve – Music & Wine

music & wine
words, secrets, hopes, dreams
a warm hug,
a quick kiss
whispered words
a soft caress
comfortable silence
yet electricity in the air —
tilted glasses
nectar of the vine,
deep conversations
feelings, heavy & astute
blurring the edges
thoughts tumbling in my
cloudy brain

Hour 12 Before Darkness

In this world,

it only rains during the day.

She dances until she can move no more.

Take away the shame!

Bring on the inner glow!

She looks up to see other people join her.

Together, they bring the best out of each other.

Make this a holiday!

Celebrate yourself!

Ideals and Music

Music and Ideas create something no other would dream of doing.

They create something from the soft breathe to the loud thundering yelling.

Music has power even without words.

Storytelling and music have been together since the beginning.

It creates thoughts from dreams and nightmares.

Similar to the teddybear protecting a child from the monster in the dark.

It can also create sadness and dread which only sounds can describe and no words can.

Music has always had a relationship with ideals which are both positive and negative.

The beauty with it can not be described only felt.

Wherein I Disrespect Goethe’s Faust

And although I have not earned the right, and never will, perhaps the devils will grant me the indulgence to do so. As Faust found redemption, through the Grace of Germanic Work Ethic and Beatrice, I have condensed the morality of the Tragedy thusly:

The eternal philosophy of feminine jurisprudence is medicine against the study of the worst of all pursuits: theology

Love-Hour 12

Behind every veil, behind every self doubt, every angry moment

I have tried to block the light, a curtain drawn across the face of love,

Yet love always wins, It’s light remains undimmed

Light unfolds, illuminates

I light a candle in a darkened room

I allow love to direct me, bathe me, enlighten me

I expose the darkness, I expose the hurt

I heal the pain, I am changed

Only Love is real

Hour 12: Prompt 12: Into the Wilderness

Like the mountain lion who holds her own

comes from upon the cliff top looking deep down

I feel my oneness-

a calling-

within the wilderness.

Like the snake who slithers from woodsy grass

to open water

I feel my oneness-

a calling-

within the wilderness.

Like the bird who nests at the tops of the trees

looking down to protect the ones she loves

I feel my oneness-

a calling-

within the wilderness.

Like the mama cub who protects her young

ready to pounce on anyone who threatens their safety

I feel oneness-

a calling-

within the wilderness.

Creator

In the beginning, we attempted

To create a world, devoid of pain.

To each our imperfections, we

Gave head tags. We didn’t forget

To attach the closing tag. For completion sake.

But, the work had barely begun.

We wanted a perfect world.

We only mastered HTML.

Now our creation looks like

A hideous coward.

We must run to YouTube to steal the gift of aesthetics from the CSS god.
